Has anyone been able to confirm this dealer cash incentive? I'm ready to lease a new Stinger and the dealer is offering the KMF $6300 rebate on a GT1 AWD 36mo. However when I mentioned this incentive he claimed to have no idea what I was talking about. He said there was nothing in their system. The dealer is in NY. Can anyone confirm the incentive?

OK apparently I can't post links. There's an article on this at Jalopnik and also Carsdirect. Perhaps someone else can post the links?

That is dealer cash and it’s unlikely they will pass any of that to you, especially in a lease and the fact you are already getting the lease cash. Never heard of them stacking these 2 for the customer. If you were to decide to buy, they may offer you a part of the dealer cash if you don’t qualify for 0% interest.

It wont let me post the links, but the article says "Through September 3, dealers are able to utilize $3,000 in savings beyond what you'll see advertised on TV and online. In some cases, we're seeing dealers offering as much as a $12,000 discount off MSRP. But there are some catches worth knowing about.

The latest offer is a dealer cash incentive as opposed to a traditional rebate. Like most offers of this type, dealers aren't obligated to pass along the money to consumers and can choose to keep it as profit. The offer is worth an extra $3,000 off the 2019 Stinger twin-turbocharged V6 and $2,000 off the 4-cylinder turbo."

So yes I get that the dealer is not required to pass this on. However, they can pass on the savings if they want to make a deal. I'm trying to figure out if anyone knows how the incentive is paid to the dealer. The salesperson i spoke with said its not anywhere in his system, and I think maybe he can't see it but the sales manager can.

Anyway, just trying to figure out how to leverage this the best since my Sorento is up Aug 31. Right now the best offer on a Red 2019 GT1 AWD for a 36 mo 36K mile lease with $0 down is $556 per month. The price is $49105 MSRP with a dealer discount of $5,088.82. MF is 0.00197 and residual 52% and‬ is including the $6300 lease cash from KMF.

It's not a bad deal but when you hear about stingers with $10K off MSRP I don't want to leave cash on the table. Any thoughts/help is appreciated.

The $12k off that is being seen, has to be referring to how some dealers post online the sale price which is all rebates available are deducted, however no single person will ever get all rebates. Also if you were buying, you would get some stacked deals but not so with the lease.

I am no expert and I am not a dealer, but if I had the same deal that you just mentioned, I would be all about it and ready to sign the papers tomorrow. If you do not feel good about it, tell them to get you a GT2 for the same. If there is more room to move, they will with the GT1. Once they start working a deal on a car it seems they rather figure out something to get you to buy it instead of starting over with a different car.

I went to a dealer in PA that didn't know about it until I mentioned it to him. He looked it up and confirmed that it is available but as said above, they don't necessarily need to pass on the discounts to the customer. However, I feel like if they do pass that one, you should definitely be able to combine it with at least one other incentive/rebate, such as the Competitive Cash bonus which applies to almost anyone who drives a vehicle that kia considers a competitor.

Thanks for the confirmation! Do you know how they looked it up in the system? would this be something only the sales manager could look up?

I'm not sure exactly where he looked it up, but yes it was the Sales Manager. After dealing with a couple of KIA dealers in the past 2 weeks, I'll tell you that sometimes it's just really annoying to deal with some sales people and sales manager as they themselves don't know the deals KIA is offering. One manager wanted to argue with me how the special finance term is only 72 months and not 75 months until he went back to his office and felt stupid about it. And another sales person that told me having 52 PSI in the tires is normal until I pointed out the sticker by the door that said it's supposed to be 33 PSI. These two incidents were at the same dealership!

Thanks again for all the info. One dealer is telling me that the $3,000 dealer cash is only on finance, but I don't think that's accurate. It should be for either lease or finance since it's still a sale. Is there a possibility that the $3,000 dealer cash is only for finance?

That's funny because I received an email from a dealer in Delaware saying that the $3k dealer cash cannot be combined with financing. What's even funnier is that it was initially branded as "Special Internet Buyer's club" discount on the first email and now it's "Dealer cash" discount.

Can you tell me what dealer it was in PA that confirmed it? The local guy says he doesn't see it in his system and I want to tell him how to find it.

Yes. Usually purchase and lease have different incentives - which is why many people have leased to take advantage of significant lease savings, but then bought out the lease almost immediately.

Yes I did confirm that the $3000 incentive is for finance only until 9/3. So it won't work for my lease but I hope this helps anyone else.

I see it says low apr does not count would the 5.9 that comes with the 2750 rebate quality as low apr? For me being in a double tax state this plus the 2750 would be a great option this weekend. Then I just refinance with my credit union for much less. That could get me close to 10k off a gt1. With labor day and eom might be able to squeeze this out of them. Was set on the premium until the test drive. My wife has a bad leg for life and had to be sure she could drive it. We had to sell my wrx because of that. She sees another stinger asks about it because of color combination and rims. You can guess she fell in love with the v6 in part because of guilt of wrx and the premium not having the oomph of the car I gave up and how fun it was. So now to find a way to find a way to afford a v6. Has to have forward collision so that leaves the gt out.

I think the trick will be to find a dealer willing to even acknowledge the Dealer cash from Kia. Most likely will pocket this cash as their profit. The largest discount I was able to attain on a GT after weeks of trying and about 8 - 10 dealers was $4,300 dealer discount and the $2k Competition rebate with the 0% for 75 months.

I know won't be easy but at this point if they want the sale its the only choice. It is my fault for a bad choice 3 years ago and paying the price again. I have until November 30th to get a great deal on a GT1. Definitely a 8-10 year car for me so my wife wants me to hold out for what I really want.
