Hi All,

This is my first post. I've lurked for quite a while and learned what I could from the resident experts. All was fine with my 2019 Stinger GT for almost 3 years. Then yesterday I installed the EWG wires and things changed.

I went for a blast to feel the difference. The car was pulling hard, about to auto shift 2nd, suddenly the motor began to surge. Like it hit a rev limiter. But it didn't. Max RPM was 6100. I let off it quickly.

So I decided it best to log a run this evening and see what the experts say. I believe I felt surging again, but it was very mild.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Did you adjust the setting in the app so your JB4 knows you added the EWG’s?.

Hi,

Yes. I followed N54tech guide. Also, my plugs are almost 3 yrs old (Denso .22 gap). I'm wondering if that could contribute.

For the price of plugs I would swap them out for new. Fresh gapped plugs can’t hurt.

Logging seems to have stopped there also. Try to grab a couple more runs/logs.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
It has been a while since my last post simply due to the weather. I had the mufflers deleted in the meantime which I like quite a bit. So today, with the new exhaust tone keeping me high, I went out early to log some runs. While on my way a new blacked-out BMW 540i pulled up next to me at a light. Nice looking car. Out of the hole we paced each other for a moment or two, then we hit it. I was pulling away quite nicely all the way up to 90 mph when I let off it. After just pushing the car full throttle through at least 2 gears, never once did I experience the surging issue that prompted me to start this thread.

I continued on to the spot I intended to log some runs. With my brake boost switch on, traction and stability control off, I suddenly accelerated at about 70% throttle as I merged with traffic. For the first time all 4 wheels spun from a roll as the car shot forward with impressive thrust. Then... the dreaded limp mode shut me down.

After that I was too concerned about the well being of the car to push it any more. Thus I did not log any runs. While it appears my original issue may be a non issue now, I'm curious as to why limp mode has entered the picture. Especially when the EWG wires should prevent it.

Perhaps your hpfp is crashing causing limp. There’s a thread or two on that issue which kinda sounds similar. Look forward to hearing more comments.
Oh, and set your JB4 to log at 75% throttle that way you would at least have a log from when it happened.
