3.3TT engine stall coasting downhill

I was driving in forest/canyon roads coasting downhill, when the engine suddenly did not respond to throttle inputs and stalled, I shifted to neutral, and it started on 2nd attempt while coasting downhill.
After that, engine seemed to be in a "limp mode" with power limited and revs not climbing past 3500.
Same event happened 2nd time, did not start while rolling, brought car to a stop, attempted starting, struggled for about 3 seconds then fired up. Power seemed normal after that.
I've already had it towed to a dealership for it stalling before and they had to swap out a fuel injector, said it could be the fuel I'm using being old or not circulated enough at the gas station.

Does anyone know what issue this is and if they have experienced something similar?

You didn't throw a code? Without a code, you're likely dealing with something temporary like "they" suggested. Hopefully when you gas up (top tier only) this doesn't repeat. No codes is a good thing.

Nope no check engine light came on luckily.

Is this a 2.0t or a 3.3t? There are recalls on the 2.0t for a fuel pump issue. Your dealer should know all about it but might help doing a VIN search online to see what recalls exist for your car.

It's a 3.3T, yeah my local dealer didn't find any recalls on my VIN but I'll be having them check again at the upcoming oil service.

Well it happened again, same thing as the OP, except this time got a check engine code that went away after 2-3 start cycles. Checking the logged codes myself, it's a
P0087- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too Low. Wonder if that fuel pump recall is the culprit and affects the 3.3TT?

Any fuel pump can fail at any time. It isn't a recall issue on the 3.3L. Since you threw a code, it should be a direct warranty repair without them saying "cannot duplicate".

Right on, thanks. They actually duplicated it, found it to be a bad high pressure fuel pump and it'll be fixed under warranty of course.
