Hey guys. Pretty new to the mod game. I’ve got a 22 AWD 3.3L
Running map2 on jb4 with hks plugs, injen intakes and addw1 twin catch cans. Car runs smooth but I notice vibration while idling and cold starts. I read on here that it might be carbon build up, something with fuel injectors or engine mounts. Vibration isn’t crazy strong but definitely noticeable. Not constant, about a couple second interval before it goes away and comes back. Has anyone gotten to the bottom of this? Thanks in advance

I can't imagine it being carbon contamination on your intake valves at such low mileage.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

There will be noticable carbon buildup with that milage. But it shouldn't be bad enough to cause idling problem.

Just letting you know that this topic has been moved out of the community lounge and into the Stinger engine forum.

I would suspect a small vacuum leak, usually they produce rough idle but dont effect higher revs as much.
Check all the hoses in your catch cans and the gaskets in the cans themselves.
I cant see carbon build up with that low mileage and I dont believe that would cause a rough idle.

No visible leaks or extra ordinary sounds. I checked the hoses off the catch cans and they are tight all around. Weird :/

Sooooo...what was the outcome. dont leave us in suspense. lol
I assume I wasn’t careful cutting the vacuum hoses myself to fit. I re did the clamps and tighten them. Drop for about 100 miles already. Not as noticeable but vibration is still slightly there. Might get new hoses and see if that fixes the problem. At the end of the day, anything aftermarket may cause inbalance of some sort. Rides smooth still and temp’s are all fine. Will run full diagnostic when I change my oil in couple of weeks

Not to say that there isn’t something causing a slightly rough idle for you, but my last stinger idled considerably rougher than my GT2. I never thought anything of it but when I bought my new one I was amazed at how smooth it was at idle. Both 3.3 AWD cars.

Mine is 22 GT1. Is your GT2 a 23’?

I had a 20’ GT AWD, I actually went back a year, I found a 19’ GT2 with only 6k miles, I put 108k miles on my GT.
Nice! I assume the 3.3 model are all the same except the interior. Do you have a dual catch can as well on your GT?

Nope, I’m planning on modding this one now since it’s no longer my primary work vehicle, all stock. It’s not particularly relevant to your situation other than same engine. It really is noticeably smoother with no difference at all engine wise. Even down to K&N Air filters.
