Just got back from Commerce GA.I went 3-0 and every car i ran against had 100 or more HP then me.1. Kenny Bell Ford Lightning--600HP--ran a 12.8--Kenny bell spun at line and ran like a 14--cause of traction.2nd Race--500 HP Ford fairlane--Heavily modded also a 12.8 to his 13.1--Last race was sweet--a 550 HP WRX also a 12.8 to his 13.0.My RT was faster then all 3 and I even let off after the 1/8th because I had gapped them so bad.I did not use launch control and was at 1500 RPM and timed the lights--60 was 4.29 seconds. I will try and post the WRX race.I have a 2020 AWD Stinger GT 3.3TT.BTW american muscle cars stock were running 12.8 to 13.8 seconds.The AWD was a huge advantage.It was cool and I could have probably run mid to maybe low 12s if I had used launch control.I was flagged after the WRX and told I need a helmet next time for breaking 13 seconds.I have only an exhaust and KIA reset computer after I got it--possibly giving me the 10% gain.BTW I was in comfort mode in the first race and still ran a 12.8--trap time was 107--in sport I was at 12.8 but trap speed was 110 plus--and I was only pushing it maybe 85% after the 8th.Golf R declined to race after we compared slips and he was at 13.6 and he had used launch control.The Stinger Stung.A freind also owned the lightning that is on my you tube page--flaniganskywalker is my name and I will post the last race--I was unable to hold a camera and race.But much better then expected considering I did not use launch control.

And you're 450 WHP, what map if JB4?

Ford Lightning I'm guessing is the one in one of your vids?

I was just kidding--I am not at 450--I was talking smack.I had my ecu reset by KIA after an exhaust put on which should give 10%--which probably puts me at 400 HP.The JB4 are fouling plugs and the gains are very hard to prove.The lightning does have 600 hp--Noone that modded their cars could get the power down with street tires--I will keep the car as is--maybe an intake for another few %--but in the street division I was in the top 5 out of prob at least 50 cars.BTW if it gets colder the car wil run faster--because i was able to run faster then 13 seconds i got warned and pulled because I was deemed i needed a helmet to race--or else I would have had more runs.

All cars will run faster when it is cold the air is heavier, that is why if it gets to hot planes need a longer runway as the air is to light and they get no lift.

What Happens To The Temperature & Air Density? As air temperature increases the density of the air, and the amount of oxygen it holds, decreases. This means that the turbocharger has to work harder, spin faster and compress more air to produce the same amount of boost it would at lower temperatures.
Now, cold air is denser than warm air, so in cold weather the number oxygen molecules entering the combustion chamber per unit volume of air is significantly greater than when the temperature is high. More oxygen provides better combustion, and hence a noticeable increase in power.
 
Can you explain what you mean by that comment? Lots of Dyno's showing the gains.
Link me a video of Just a Jb4--everyone I see has a list of mods--like intakes --exhausts--overboosting the turbo.I would like to find one with just a JB4--in which the reliability is there,BTW I would rather see race times.Someone in Canada having a Jb4 getting a dyno when it is 10 below out is much diffrent then here in GA where I live and the temps are hot.I ran a 12.8 quarter in comfort mode and will post all the videos of it--no launch control on any run.The KIA I goto also said the Jb4 is risky at best--but I will be at the track in march with the local stinger club and 2 guys will have Jb4--so we will see the diffrence.I want the max time while keeping my car reliable and under warranty.

The JB4 website shows the dyno gains with no other mods. I will say that since JB4 is a piggy back and has no ECU control, the limitation is likely torque limits. I could be wrong but no matter how much boost/power JB4 makes, the ECU may shutdown the party on launch? That's my thinking based on different things I've read and observed.

Well you can look at my videos. I was dusting 500 plus HP cars and did not even run at full speed cause I had no helmet.I prob could have run a mid 12 if I had tried.My 60 was 4.27 with no launch control against the lightning.All I have is an exhaust and a Driver Mod.
 
The peak number isn't everything. Torque matters as well, along with gearing, how that power is made(power curve) and of course how much weight that power has to move.

The Stinger has a really wide and flat powerband. That area under the curve is what actually makes cars fast moreso than the peak number and is part of how this car seems to do so well against other cars that may be able to spin a higher number on a dyno.
 
There is just so much...confusion...in this thread. Lets clear some things up;

1) Why are the horsepower claims are all over the place?
2) How did you run a 12.8 in a, basically, stock Stinger while letting off at the 1/8th in probably a 1500ft D/A?
3) Why would you question whether a JB4 gives you gains?
4) How did a 550hp WRX run in the 13's?
5) What would make you claim you could run possibly low 12's in your car with just exhaust because you had the ECU reset?
6) What is a "driver mod" in an AWD car with an automatic transmission?

2. I have a new 2020 which has software updates to make them faster(shifts faster--gets off line better--told to me by KIA--and obviously true by the times)--full exhaust with computer reset to take advantage--good traction--cold weather.
3. Because the gains are all over the place and folks have tons of other mids--like tork who removes the cat converters--or folks who get a JB4 and also overboost the turbos by a few psi--so not saying a JB4 does not work--just can not get an answer on the gains with just that.
4. You got all my vids and can see i even beat 600 HP cars--if you have not built up the tranny ec--it is obvious they had trouble--and we are on street tires. WRX does 14.1 in quarter stock--so to get it into the 12s takes at least I would say 150 HP or more--but dude and his car club said 550.
5. I said maybe mid 12s--well you saw the video--did you not--you can freeze it to check out the time in which I did it with no launch control--I did not stay floored at the 1/8th--I keep the pedal down 80% because I had no helmet and was getting warned for going under 13.
6.Driver mod is a joke. I also had 94 octane gas and octane booster--but other then that car is stock so obviously my RT and exhaust did make a diffrence.
--Obviously I proved/showed that what folks show on dynos--claim on websites--are yes all over the place--at least i posted clear videos of my runs from 3 diffrent camera people--we were also on stock tires and I also have gone to the track before.
I posted on the Facebook stinger club weeks in advance--so anyone else here and in the facebook club had plenty of time to show up--2 folks said they would and one had a jb4 and I was only one that did.I am not trolling--but I am not going to get a JB4 if it voids the warranty--fouls plugs--if the gains are not a lot.--Have some folks post track videos with the times like I did--you can also look at y vids and see the ford Lightning and what i have done to my car--videos do not lie.Everyone can say something until you goto the track. MY RT was also twice as fast as the other guys--you can see the light flash to show who gets off quicker--so right off the start I had 1 to 2 or so car lengths by 60 because I have done this before which makes a diffrence. The stingers in ATl are going next time--I would love to race someone with a Jb4 who is doing low to mid 12s to see if I can match it.All the american muscle cars were also running very high 12s to low 13s--because people think they can just get a car and do car and drivers times.Launch control is very hard to time at a drag with lights. To be honest--I was pleasantly surprised at my times and the cars I beat--subaru had also run a 12.4 in the run before racing me--and I knew that if I went under 13 I was getting kicked cause I had no helmet--which is what happened after I sent him packing.You sound almost upset that our cars are fast and there is proof. My plan is to get the car as fast as I can without nulling the warranty.

1) I was actually referring to all the vehicles, save the WRX; Is the Lightning 600hp, 650 or 700? (You've claimed all 3). Was the Fairlane 500hp or 600? I also like how you were "kidding" about the #'s of your car. Looks to me like someone likes to embellish...just my own opinion.

2) Prove it. Just because some Kia tech told you doesn't make it true. Why wouldn't Kia want to disclose that as an update? Wouldn't they want to let it be known that they made the car better/faster?

3) The gains for exhausts are all over the place, too. Some people say they're more for sound than power. I've even seen others who claim they add 10%... Also, yes, the JB4 increases boost. That's how you get power.

4) Lets be honest; those vids aren't the best. I'd be interested in the slips, though. Guaranteed that Fairlane ran a 4sec 60ft. Also, I've seen WRX's run mid to high 13's off the showroom floor (not all will, but they are capable of it). If that guy claims he's running 550hp, he was probably "just kidding".

And I'm not sure how much time our launch control saves, as I've never ran mine at a track, but it doesn't feel like it does a whole lot.

6) I notice you like to "joke" a lot. You could be running straight race fuel on your stock motor, but you're not going to run any faster than on solid 91oct. Also, your RT has no effect on your ET.

Just so you know, ANY performance mod CAN affect your warranty. Not saying they will, but they could.

I'm definitely not upset about any of this. I just see people on this site brazenly throw misinformation about all the time and it goes unchecked. If you have proof, more power to you. That's why I'd like to see some slips. Also, don't just take people's words at the track. A lot of them like to "kid".

First off my buddy put his stats in on the video and we edited it and it has the stats now edited.. 2nd --The camera people because of covid were in the staging area so we did our best.Also you can freeze the frames and time the video if you have doubt. The fist video we made that went on you tube was going to be a parody and we left it at that till we went to the track. I already showed the slips to the stinger club in ATl the next day.Do I think in cold weather using launch and a good run//--yes I believe I could get maybe a 12.3 with the way the car was running.The videos are clear enough for you to see what was happening.I did not use race fuel --I have 94 near me and do not have the device needed to even put race fuel in the car and they were not even selling it.The videos are adjusted--yes I joke--but I explained what was going on and corrected it for you--and posted vids.I also have a turbo slingshot that i share--so yes 12 to 13 sec cars are slow--thats why i have something to really track if need be.But if you think you can show up at the track with AWD and just do these times--then i say try it.Everyone here had weeks to come to this event and I was the only one and did my best.You can clearly see the ford Lightning race and what happened--you have the staging lights and can freeze the videos to see all the times are right under 13 seconds.If you want to see slips--come in real life.Any jokes or talk I may have played around are nill and void when someone posts vids--here is a picture of my slip--I just took the best photo of it with my camera. How about next time you want to doubt anyone--show up.It figures with the dang cameras--but here are pictures of the slips.12.8 flat at 109 in comfort floored 100% till end--next 2 runs were also 12.8--but I was in sport and after the 1/8th I did not keep it floored--I kept it at 80%--so yes I feel I could shave more off this time if I go all out.CIMG1112.JPG

Ink is weak on the slips--magnify it but you can make out all the numbers.I have photoed the stupid slip many times and this is the clearest photo I can get,Looks clear then flash hits it and it looks like this--no flash and it is totally blank.Need to come next time and generate your slips.All this post was about is my track day--did not think it would turn into a forensic investigation--but you have this and live videos.If you have doubts--show up at the next public drag.
