240km First Drive from dealer to me

I'm expecting delivery of a GT this Wednesday. Dealer is driving it to me so it can be registered by them in my home state/territory. First drive is approx 240km. Is this too much for a first drive out of the dealership given the engine run in recommendations etc? Do I just trust them to drive it correctly?

No issue at all for the vehicle, it is recommended to not sit on one speed continuosly and its best to alter the speeds. Its got something do with seating of the cylinders? Im sure some one more techinical can explain.

Apart from that don't race the engine for the first 1,500km.

I'm surprised it's being driven to you. Wouldn't a "trade tow" on a flat-top be more appropriate. Hope some kid from their workshop isn't the driver. How many bugs and stone chips is it likely to encounter? Where is it coming from?
Sorry to be all negative but there is no way I would accept that.
The only positive is that it will have had a little run in time..but how is it likely to have been driven.

240KM should not be an issue, run in today with modern engines is literally to bed in piston rings and cross hatching on cylinder bores. I've just completed my run in, and I drive into Melbourne every day up to 40 minutes each way to go 15KM, or go down the coast to Ocean Grove 120KM. All I did was every 20 to 30 minutes I'd paddle down a gear or 2 to change the engine revs up but as stated above don't race the engine above 4500 rpm max.

Once you have the car your run in should be simply drive the car normally, and not at the extreme.

Agree to a degree with Shannon, but if this delivery is your only option, hopefully the turbo ban for P plates will prevent the dealer kid (idiot) from getting the drive.

I picked up mine from @KiaofMuncie and drove her home ~550 miles thru the night. Seems to be doing OK 4,000 miles later.
