Hello,
I've looked around and can't seem to find much information on the new exhaust for the 22s. Car and Driver says the increase HP over previous models is thanks to a new variable exhaust system . But all of the Kia sources I can find just mentions the new exhaust adding to the "visceral experience" by creating a deeper, throatier exhaust tone. So I was wondering 1) is the slight HP bump from the new exhaust or a slight tune to go with the new exhaust, and 2) would that mean it only makes the slight bump while in sport?
(I know 3 HP isn't going to be noticeable in a 4,000+ lb car. Just curious on how it works.)
Also, does anyone know specifically when the exhaust baffles open? I know 1) in sport mode, 2) in smart mode when the car thinks sport mode should be on. At what throttle position does it open?
