New Stinger owner. I've cleaned up my contacts list and uploaded to my Samsung Galaxy s22. I have no friends, so there are about 50 contacts. But when I then upload them to my shiny new muscular-yet-adorable Stinger GT1, It duplicates many of the contacts. It says it grabs 150 contacts, but I don't see that many. I wish it were finding friends for me but alas, that is not the case. I've read the official guide, but there's nothing there for me. Is there a guide that shows the fields that the Stinger is looking for or can give me troubleshooting steps?

Thanks, in advance.

what steps are you performing?

I just connect my phone Via Bluetooth, and allows the contact list transfer, and done - no duplicates

no "upload" step to perform

Ill second the bluetooth connection.

And why dont you have friends?

D.J. - I deleted all phones. Then I hit the hard Setup button -> device connections -> device connections and add my phone via Bluetooth. I give permission to grab the contacts and call history. When I look at the Contacts, many of them are duplicated. If I tap on one, it immediately dials that number. The duplicates might be for Home and Mobile numbers but when I say, for instance, "Call acquaintance who is not my friend, mobile" It displays 2 entries, each with a (2) after it. and the icons are the same, i.e. a house or an office building. If they were different, then I'd understand, but they're not. So I choose the first entry and the car tells me, "There are two entries for this "non-friend" (I'm paraphrasing) and it shows me the cell and home numbers. Then I can place the call.

Deviate - I'm speechless. Would you ask an ugly person WHY they're ugly? Or a dumb person why they're dumb? I can tell you, no one has ever asked ME why I'm dumb and ugly. Oh. OH. :(

Harmless joke! No rudeness intended.

As for duplicates you may have some numbers saved to the phones internal memory and google. Its happened to me before. May need to combine some.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Deviate, you're not rude, you're my hero! I verified that I had two sets of contacts, in my case, one on the phone and one on the SIM card. I merged them to the phone, since the SIM card has limited space, deleted my phone from the car, and re-paired the two. Viola! No more duplicates. So thank you, and thanks to D.J. for his suggestions. Now I have to figure out how train the car to pronounce my name properly!
