Hi. New to the forum and to a Kia Stinger. I just recently purchased a used 22 Stinger GT2 AWD and notice that over the last week or the downshift between 3rd and 2nd is really hard, it feels like the brakes are being pressed. The car has 18k miles, had 1 owner and is accident free. Curios if anyone else has experienced this or knows of anyone who has and what the fix is. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Welcome! Just letting you know that this topic has been moved out of the community lounge and into the main Stinger forum. :)

You can also use a diagnostic tool to reset, thats what I use.
Its a fairly common issue with the TCU.

Thanks. What’s the diagnostic tool that you use? Is it difficult to do?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I have an XTOOL A30M. It is able to reset the TCU, I think its called gear learning....or gearbox match.

I used the XTool A30D. Not sure what the difference is vs. A30M, but I could not get the Special Function / Gearbox Match function to work for my 2022 (or 2021), and their support team confirmed via email they haven't enabled it for 2022 models yet.

I *did* get it to work selecting the 2020 model, and after a few days of driving in different drive modes, I haven't experienced any rough downshifts while stopping. More discussion in this thread if you're interested:

I think the M version has a little bit more functionality, I dont think there are many differences.
I got it on sale for less than the D..just checked, its the newer model of the D.

Thanks for this information guys! Much appreciated..
