Hi y'all!

I am just now joining the forum, but bought my first Kia Stinger on the 1st of January. Dealership called me on a Saturday after more than 30 days negotiating the car.

It was a good deal, and I love the car, the looks of it, the engine power is enough for me, and the finish inside is awesome too. It is the GT-line AWD Ceramic silver with Red interior and HK/Sunroof package.

I did have some hiccups along the way. Trunk latch had a chirping noise, got that replaced after 3 services, and trunk rattle also had to get the 2018 models recall done on my 2022, which was weird. But that solved those trunk problems.

The first day we had a 70º weather this week, I am having the headliner crackling noises, it is not loud, but definitely bothers if you have stereo off. I am not sure if I will bring it in for service again, since I have been there 5 times and it is always a very poor service and I get my car all dirty/scratched/damaged. So I am probably looking at the solutions found in this forum and try to get it sorted through the weekend.

Picture from a couple weeks ago in a snowstorm we had, still made it to work just fine. Stock wheels/tires.

Glad to meet y'all.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Stinger! What did the Stinger replace for you? This is a great resource to help with issues. I'm glad you found us. :)

Well that's a long story, but I basically had a mid life crises in 2021, where I had a 21 Camaro v8, 21 Kia Niro EV, 21 hybrid wrangler... I think I'm settling with the Stinger (at least I hope). The car market was just too crazy, and I took some advantage to try new things I guess.

welcome!

if it's kinda like a velcro like noise, try pressing firmly around the sunroof on the headliner up towards the roof , you may hear/feel a pop of something going into place, Mine made that noise around 3k miles in, followed some other people's suggestions here, pressed up on the headliner and something popped into place, now at 25k miles and no sunroof/headliner ticking/crackling noises at all since then.

I tried that this past couple days, And as soon as it was warm, same noises again. I noticed that the noises come from the left and right sides of the headliner, not close to the Sunroof. So I followed another post here where the guy loosen the Oh shit handles and hand tight them. Seems to have helped? I can't have a proper answer since it is cold today again and I haven't heard anything so far. But thanks for the info!
