2022 G70 questions

Does anyone know when the 2022 G70 is "Dropping" in the US? I've researched around and can't find a definitive date. Also, any word on if they made the backseat larger in anyway? I'm changing careers and possibly looking for something a bit more luxurious/refined as I'll be driving clients around. The backseat of the G70 "as is" is a deal breaker for me. The 2022 TLX Type S is also on the table. I've also considered keeping the Stinger (which I love btw) and buying a used Lexus or something for work but I don’t think I can afford 2 cars right now. Not sure what to do...All opinions welcome

Why can’t you do that with the stinger? The stinger has more back seat space than the tlx and g70. Also the 2022 g70 has the same interior dimensions as before from the reviews I’ve watched.

Isn't the new G70 just a facelift? If so, it won't be any bigger than last year's model.

Keep the Stinger over the G70 if you intend to carry adults in the back seat, especially customers...

If you can't have two cars and it is an important part of your work to drive customer you might want to sell the Stinger and get a lightly used BMW 540I or something around those lines. You will lose some driving dynamics but not too extreme (still capable in curves and acceleration) but gain a lot of comfort and interior quality (especially if you find one with the upgraded seat package).

540i are as fast as most AWD Stingers in stock form and they are also very tunable like the Stinger. They just need a bit more suspension tuning to get perfect driving dynamics as they should have (springs and sway). They are also very good on gas compared to the Stinger.


On the other hand the Stinger is a GT car, not as comfortable as a 5 series but still very comfortable.

I rode in the back of a G70 (buddy was shopping for a new daily driver) about a year and a half before I test drove the Stinger. I feel, but I could be wrong, that the rear seats of the Stinger have more room than the G70. If you want even more rear space and luxury then get something LS from Lexus or an E-class from MB or a 5-series from BMW. I think the Stinger has really good back seats. I've driven many people in the back of my Stinger and they all say it's comfortable and nice back there. I'm sure that will change once I go with a catback exhaust without tips lmfao!

Also, I am not sure, but I am pretty confident in predicting that the 2022 G70 is nothing more than some minor cosmetic changes. I don't think it's worth going from a Stinger to a G70 (assuming identical drivetrain and engines) if you want slightly more luxury/comfort and rear leg room.

Just my two cents though.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! It would've been better to say I was looking for something more.....unassuming. I guess I always thought of sales people always having kinda boring cars. My dad was a lifelong salesmen and had his fair share of black caddys and Lexus'. It doesn't help that my car is SUPER RED and with all the aesthetic mods I've done it looks pretty aggressive. Maybe I'm overthinking it.
I took my car out today to run some errands and ended up on Lake Shore Drive doing some spirited driving and came to this conclusion....there's no way I'm getting rid of this car. It's just too damn good.

if you really wanted to have some luxury and getting a second car to cart clients around, what about a cpo g12 740i? those only came in lwb in the states, the more reliable b58 i6 and still pretty peppy at around ~5seconds 0-60 in a land yacht while still getting 29mpg... we seriously considered one before the stinger.

Just get a used or CPO LS-XXX from Lexus and be done with it. It's larger than both the Stinger and G70 while being more luxurious and having better MPG... plus the Lexus brand is associated with maturity, refinement, and class. Nobody hates Lexus owners. Having a BMW or MB or Audi sometimes carries a negative stigma. I have a buddy who used to work as a real estate agent (for higher end real estate - apartments/condos in the $500k+ range) and he noticed people were a bit more slack n' relaxed when he pulled up in a GS350 instead of his M3. Both cars had aftermarket exhausts.

I think Genesis would tell you "for rear seat comfort, get the G80". You can get one with the 3.5TT. Larger size (hence larger rear seats) means it's not as nimble, but it's not a boat either according to reviews/impressions.

Issue is the G80 is a significant price jump, but that's where you'll end up if you want a quick car that can also accommodate adults in the back seat with a degree of luxury.

If you're willing to step down a bit in power/performance, the options expand in the $40k price range (think V6 models with around 300hp). Camry and Charger come into view.

Charger over Camry since this is for clients.

They're bigger and hold a stronger masculine presence which is good for negotiating and impressing people.
