Just purchased a 2021 Kia Stinger GT AWD new about a month ago. Just over 1000 miles on it now and encountered a concerning issue. Sitting at a stoplight with the auto start/stop off, traction control off and in sports mode, I pressed the gas pedal and there was a slight hesitation followed by a pretty forceful lurch forward. As I approached the next stoplight several hundred feet further ahead the car completely stalled out. Any other Stinger owners experience this yet?

Welcome to the forum. A local guy who runs an Auto Zone (this was last May he told me this) had his Stinger simply drop dead while driving. He pulled over and got it towed to the dealer. Long story short: they said the engine was unfixable (and wouldn't warranty it because he put on his own intakes). He got into another Stinger and later saw his first one had been sold by the dealer. When he asked what they had done to fix his stalled/dead engine, they wouldn't tell him. None of this is any help to you, other than yes it has happened, or something like it anyway. I've read on here a few times of drivers having their engines conk out: bad gas? A reflash of the ECU? Disconnect the battery and leave it (overnight, even)? At least one I recall didn't actually have the dealer look at it, and the problem had not returned. I hope others can offer more ideas.

4/1/21: Just got back from the dealership and of course they couldn't find anything wrong when looking at onboard codes or taking on a test drive. They've submitted a case to Kia's tech department. Been wondering if it has anything to do with the fuse panel they replaced as a part of a recall several weeks ago???

Anything's possible, but think it's more likely a fuel related issue than an electronics one.

Had a similar issue with my 19 completely stalling. My dealer said it's because of a loose ground connection in the rear of the car on the passenger side, by the c pillar above the cargo area. Hope this helps
