Back in the day when I sold Hyundais, the folks that came in with issues were those that have never owned a car and thought you jus put gas in it and drive. We saw a lot of cars with engine issues due to them never being serviced. Then again, I also saw a new Jag brought in because the engine seized, same issue, the lady that leased it didn't know she was supposed to have the car serviced. Much like the Excels, they jus put gas in and drove it until it stopped working and blamed the manufacturer for making a bad product that didn't last
My mom had one and both my brother and I had accidents in them, mine was "minor", his was really bad, we thought they would write it off but they fixed it. For us it was a great car. One of the reason I went to work for them was because of how good the car was for us.
