Do you think Kia should cover a broken headlight adjuster if I bought a used Stinger from the Dealer and paid 2k to transfer the 10/100 with bumper/ bumper warranty and I asked the sales and service to fix it the day after buying it? Service at the dealer said no and with the diagnosis fee and replacing the headlight would be very expensive. I originally asked them to adjust the headlights and they said adjustments weren't covered and he remembered the car and the front end would have to be removed to adjust the light which didn't make sense since there is adjustment holes clearly visible. That was fine so I ordered the adjustment tool, tried to adjust the light and the screw worked fine but didn't move the light at all up down or left right. Something is funny because putting the tool in the left right funnel hole goes right through nothing and hits the fender. The dealer said there was no accidents but someone must have changed the light and left the adjuster guide in place.

Something got removed and not put back. Is that under warranty, or clearly damage from abuse/incompetence? All you can do is ask and argue. And I wish you success. An 8" plus long no. 2 Philips screwdriver will adjust headlights up and down and left and right. Unless something inside is busted/missing.

I bought the correct tool, so they couldn't say I broke it. It's a 30 dollar real long t handle hex/torx wrench. After that didn't work, I took off the air filter box so you could see down there and there is nothing in the left/right hole and the up/down hole mechanism looks perfect. I am going to contact Kia to see if they respond. I found a site online to fill out the Vin# and everything.

Whatever happened sounds like a damage instead of a defect. As such, it is not covered by warranty. Unless that damage was uncovered, discussed and specifically addressed in the sale contract for a used car, once you take possession... you own it.

It's up to the buyer to check the car over thoroughly BEFORE signing on the dotted line. If the headlights alignment is off enough to need adjustment, that should have been a warning sign to look carefully to see WHY that might be.

I agree, but whose going to check the headlight adjustment when you have to buy the car in the daylight. I doubt even a hired 3rd party inspection would've caught this one. I'll ask KIA and the dealer one more time, if not go to a different dealer to get it fixed. It does look like a different harness plug than the other light, and the salesman said it was not in an accident so the the light was possibly changed.
