Found out what the 114mm Akrapovic tips look like with the new diffuser (not my car).

From a distance, its fine, but I don't think I can live with that gap.

That looks really bad, that diffuser design only really looks like it will work with oval tips.
Agreed. They’re too far apart for round tips.

I had a chance to get up to North Korea today for some slightly more spirited driving. It is difficult to fully capture the exhaust sound via video, but I think the results are a little disappointing.

You can't really hear much difference under hard acceleration, as the sound of the engine seems louder than the exhaust.

When you switch to sport you can hear the exhaust due to the RPM bump, and during regular driving it is a little louder at lower rpm (below 3K or so).

I think I might explore moving the cutout to a "muffler delete" in sport and just leave both ports of the regular muffler open at all times when normal driving.

Thanks for the video. It is hard to hear a difference but doesn't sound bad, just not a huge difference over the old non-valved exhaust.

Do you have the active engine noise turned completely off (the artificial engine sound)?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Yes, the artificial sound is off (the idea of it bothers me).

To clarify my "dissapointment" comment, I think the Sport exhaust noise is perfect (for me) for 95% of driving. It has a good tone/sound to it during normal driving, and it isn't disruptive when I have my fam in the car. I just hoped it would come a little more alive during that other 5% of the time, and didn't expect no difference near WOT.

I will probably try to make one more video from outside the car.

Hopefully it will breakin a bit and increase in volume or you might want to try secondary dowpipe or resonators delete which should increase the volume and hopfully not create drone in comfort/highway driving.

I think I heard that elsewhere too, the exhaust will get a little louder after some hard driving. Anyway, I likely won't play with anything in front of the axel until I'm closer to the end of the warranty (I think it's less than half the US warranty).

Anyway, I was thinking adding a Y pipe right before the muffler and move the valve over to it. Current Sport exhaust sound all the time, then only loud (muffler delete) when I want to have fun.

They do make an oval 115 and 150mm out … the oval offering doesn’t show the dual layer as well but it looks like a better ‘fit’. I think the new stock tips are oval as well? There’s probably an inlet size that may function as a slip on
