Hello, very pleased thus far with my 3 day old GT. Performance and daily drivability is insane for the price point.

One thing I've noticed in the two Stingers I've drove (the one I test drove and the one I now own) is that certain bumps generate a rattling sound from the back of the car. If I had to guess, it's the rear hatch bouncing. Under most (99%) of the driving conditions it doesn't make much noise, only over the harshest bumps. I'm curious if anyone's experienced this, and if so - is there something I can do/adjust to mitigate the noise?

I also hear some wind noise from time to time, mostly on the passenger side today, but I'm expecting that with a $42,000 sporty car.

Dealer installs tint no matter what, because desert. Since the first news of its release I've always thought the car looked sharp.

Welcome to the hive! A bit surprised hatch rattle hasn't been sorted on new production, if that is what it is there is a service bulletin that adds a couple of washers, a few forum members have added some foam/rubber, also check the bump stops

My 21 GT had the hatch rattle from day one (only have 400 miles now). Annoying but seems like an easy fix.

Mine is very quiet, sunroof, hatch, etc, must have lucked out!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I tried replying to another thread and it said I couldn't because my post contained links. It did not have any links though.

I have had my 2021 since Oct 4th. I also had a rattle in the rear hatch, i bought the repair kit from the dealer, fixed it myself in 5 minutes, hasn't returned yet.

Over 32 months in and not a sound out of my car other than operational noise. At least the hatch noises are addressed by simple adjustments; it's a fairly common discussion.

Congratulations and welcome! Like others, I’m surprised the hatch rattle hasn’t been fixed yet.
Nice pic. It actually makes the car look had its size! lol

Welcome to the forum. Hatch rattle pretty common as is the sunroof rattle. Hope you can get it sorted.

I used some suggestions in prior threads on the rattle, applying my own variation using what I had handy. My trunk stops didn't have any additional washers behind them. I'll know in the coming days if it worked or if I need to do more. I did test pulling up on the trunk and noted some give before the modding that didn't exist after. Opening the trunk now results in a very slight 'popping' effect, which tells me it's now very tight.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. There's lots of hatch rattle discussion around here. Do a search and you'll have lots of reading to do.

Looks like my cob job based on other forum suggestions and video did the trick, no rattle on my commute today and there's a couple spots with imperfect roads.

Just to add to your rattle fix. The rattle was driving me crazy and decided to use 5/16 zinc plated flat washers. Installed before I went on a road trip this past weekend and have not heard it since. Still just blows my mind that KIA does not even look at these forums and just fix the problem during production.

Either of these DIY fixes should fix your problem, I did one of them I just can't remember which one and it worked perfectly:

My dealer added rubber shims under my hatch stops. It is better but not perfect. I still get a little hatch movement going over speed bumps at really low speeds. I will have them check it at my next oil change visit. I have 3,700 miles on mine and the hatch rattle did not start until around 3,000 miles. Yea you would think this issue would be resolved by now with the refresh upon us soon in the US.

Just add the washer yourself and it will be gone completely
