So I was going to work this morning and as I opened he driver's door, the small decorative key cover broke off and fell on the floor. There is a small tab that broke inside that would hold it in place on the car. It is apparently part #82652-J5010 which may be a generic part number for an unpainted piece. Of course I have a Hi-Chroma Red Stinger so I would need to get one to match and that does not look like something readily available. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Any thoughts on where I could get one that was already Kia Hi-Chroma red?

Happened to me 2 weeks into owning the car ( HCR as well). Went to Kia and they denied the warranty claim. I had them order the part (25 bucks if I remember correctly) and it came in unpainted. Said I would need to find a paint shop and have it painted myself. I threw a fit, refused the part and used 3M tape to put the original piece back on. It’s been on for 3 years now with no issues.

I am gonna try the 3M tape method. I honestly did nothing to stress this part at all. I just used the handle normally to open the door and the piece fell on the floor. I am glad this happened in my garage and not on the freeway or going through the car wash...

Yeah mine fell off just wiping down the car after a wash. 3M it and you’ll forget about it in a week. Not worth the stress of going back and forth with the dealership.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
You could also "stick" it back on with 4-5 TINY dots of clear silicone (pin head sized) it should be easier to remove if you ever need to... you will need to painter tape it in place until it cures

Thanks Guys! I ordered some 3M Tape but I will try the silicone first. Again, just glad to have it happen where it did so I have the opportunity to do this. Seems like a part they should just have at the parts counter in the few colors it came in.....
