2019 Stinger GT2: Should I replace coils along with spark plugs?

Greetings, I am a little over 50k miles. I drive my Stinger like an old man because...well I am an old man, LOL. Before I retired I used to race a Porsche and a BMW and I can tell you that these Stingers are great cars. I want to keep mine a long time.

So I am replacing my spark plugs. I heard that the 2018 and 2019 coils were not that great so I was thinking of doing the coils along w/ the spark plugs.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!

I wouldn't. Just replace when you think they may have gone bad.
BTW I went with HKS sparkplugs and they are still going strong for me.

I've replaced my plugs once at c. 45,000 miles. I am now pushing 80,000 miles and do not plan to replace them until I get rough or underpowered operation, a CEL, that sort of thing. In other words, while nothing is broken I will not be fiddling with anything. I've had one coil pack go bad, right after I changed out my original plugs. Everything has worked perfectly since the coil pack got replaced.

I don't always drive like the old man I am. I like to romp on the gas when opportunity presents. I like the kickdown switch, ha hah. Also, my GT1 is bone stock. When driving the Premium, my wife's car, I don't spare it either.

One thing I've lately changed in my driving methods when using the turbos. I seldom use Eco that way anymore, except when I forget. I think that the engine mapping and trans logic likes to be in Sport Mode for spirited driving. If you treat Eco that way it confuses the trans. I was starting to notice a bit of a bump when shifting between 2nd and 3rd, 3rd and 4th, until I changed to using Sport for heavy turbo use. Now the shifting has smoothed out again. It took some weeks to smooth out. Then again, I could just be subjectively making all of this association up in my own head. Ha hah.

Thanks for the post. When I first got my GT2 I romped on it a bit, but ever since have driven it like the old man that I am. I do have a long history of racing. I once owned an 800 whp Porsche GT2 and a fully built 661 whp M3 (supercharged). I've done 200 mph in a rear engined car (scary). I would post a racing video but people will jump all over me for racing on the street.

I got all the racing out of me, LOL. I am old, retired, on a limited income so the Stinger will be the last nice car I own (and it is a great car) so I want to take excellent care of it. Research indicates that the coils on the 2018 and 2019 models were inferior to begin with so I am going to upgrade to the 2020 on coils at 51k miles along with spark plugs.

I got lucky making some connections on Reddit Stinger forum and am getting the coils/plugs done for $575 by a shop trying to make a name for itself (half the price of other quotes I have gotten).
