Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone is familiar with Kia fitting a Gasoline Particulate Filter to the European-spec 2019 3.3TT Stingers? What is likely going to be the fallout from this with regards to compatibility with current exhausts on the market, and more specifically for those of us with 2018 cars with newer designs on the market going forwards?

Has anyone seen under a 2019 car as yet to check what the layout / construction differences are at all where these particulate filters are fitted? I understand that in the 2019 owners' manual there are some different recommendations on the oil type used on GPF-equipped cars (can't for the life in me find the post again now!), as well as the cars developing 4hp fewer whilst becoming Euro 6d-TEMP compliant.

Not sure if they're coming to US cars, but for those of us in the UK and EU it's a potential issue going forwards... can anyone (particularly the exhaust manufacturers if you're on here) shed any light whatsoever on this? Thank you :)

I read an article on this a month or two ago about all the euro spec Lamborghinis and bmws coming out and from what I understand these cars will be down on power as compared to the US spec counterparts and the filter will kill any decent sound the exhaust should have. It seems as most GPFs will be placed between the downpipe and the midpipe. So I think it'll be safe to assume Kia will have the same layout. Its just another obstruction in the exhaust to deal with like cats so until someone comes out with a higher flow filter I believe the only way around it so to delete it and probably tune out the sensors and put it back on for inspection time.

Indeed - thank you.
I managed to find the other thread RE: oil type differences between the 2018 and 2019's here:
*Can't post links apparently, but the thread is here titled "No 5W40 allowed for 2019 Stinger 3.3L T-GDI".*

It appears then that there's a possibility that Canada may also be getting these 'PE' (Particulate Emittor?) versions of the Lambda II as we are here in the EU for 2019?

Happy I found this thread as today when turning on the car I just got this warning in my car. Sorry for my horrible picture.. it was cold and I only looked at it back home.
It'a a light called DPF (for diesel engines) so I was quite shocked to see it light up since I have the 2.0 TGDI engine. So I guess it's a GPF error. I'll do a longer trip tomorrow and see if it turns off. I knew that my car had the new EU spec but had no idea there was an extra filter.
Also, they've only been using 5w30 oil in the 3 changes I've done so far.

I just got this error today on my 2.0 gt line. Only 7k km. How did you solve the error? Did it happen again?
