After seeing a few horror stories on here, I didn't want to handle it myself so, I made arrangements with my local Kia dealer (Sunshine Kia) and went in for my appointment on Friday morning.

The detailer knew about using the 6lbs fishing line and everything. Told me he would take his time etc etc. When I showed up for my appointment that morning, the service was so crappy, I drove off and stopped over at the family owned local body shop, I've used for years in the past.

Took the guy 20 mins. NO fishing line, no heat gun, no hair dryer. just the plastic wedge.
Knew I had to share this with the forum ASAP.

scariest thing to watch:

no pulling UP... he just slid along the car.

thats before cleaning... 98% of the adhesive stuck to the emblems.

Super clean! If I had to take a guess...
The newer the car, the less time the adhesive has had the time to grip.

Needlesss to say... Results will VARY!

I just got this same badge, and hope to have it installed soon. Did you remove the extra post behind the badge yourself or did the body shop do this as well?
