No issues with my car recently, but I just checked under my hood for the first time in a while. There appears to be a dried green-blue fluid leaking from the front of the engine. No active leak that I can see and nothing that has collected on my garage floor. See the picture.

Any ideas what this could be and cost to repair?

* Browsing through the forum, it looks like this could be a coolant leak from the water pump...? Cost to repair? I am out of warranty.

Yup, looks like a water pump seal. The pump is around 200 Canadian, less than 500 for a install and new fluid if you do a flush afterwards (I would)
If you go to the stealership probably 800 or so. Are on the east coast?
Im in the Halifax area and would gladly help you install the new one(for free of course), I have a home garage with a portable lift..

I am in the prairies. Thanks for the offer and information though! Much appreciated!

Make sure your expansion tank isn't empty.

Take the decorative cover off and take another photo- that looks like its coming from above the water pump and trickling down.

Here are some better angles. It seems to be from the top of the water pump. I don't see anything above that.

Could just be the top of the gasket, or the seal is only leaking on rotation and flinging a little coolant around..I would replace the pump regardless.
Not worth the risk.

I took it to the stealership.$970 for pump, gasket and flush. I'm too busy with work right now to piss around with it myself. At least they got it done quickly.

Yikes...pricey. Im shocked they actually had one.
I feel ya...sometimes its better to pay a little more to be done with it.
