Hey all! I've been on here for a while w/o an account but after this last payday I'm FINALLY in a position to start making a move on a Stinger!
I've been stuck between the decision of the 2 cars in the title, 2018 GT2 or 2019 GT1, both of which are in my budget area.
I really like the tech stuff in the car and would like to have a sunroof (would be annoying for it to squeak all the time though) but I'm having trouble figuring out if there's a clear winner between these years and trims. I've hear that a lot of the squeaks and creaks were worked out in the 2019s but does that mean giving up things like ACC and lane keep assist? I know not everybody probably thinks those are even that great but I feel like I'd really like them for myself. Also would LOVE remote start for the cold mornings but the power lift trunk would be something I'd want as well.
Obviously I'm lost on this so I just appreciate any input from you guys on this at all and I can't wait to join the hive!

'19 GT1 has lane keep assist. The things you're missing out on with GT1 is power gate, HUD, moving headlights and adjustable side bolsters. I think that's it, although maybe I'm missing something..

The thing you gain with GT1 is real shifter, easier to manually shift and/or FORCE manual mode. I replaced the T-shifter with an "i30N" shifter, looks MUCH better and feels better. GT1 still has the sunroof, and it'll probably rattle (my '19 GT1 has a sunroof, and it rattles).

That's super helpful! Thank you for letting me know that. My wife and I will both be driving it equally and neither of us will care too much for the shifter benefit of the 19 but we'll both enjoy the power gate, HUD, moving headlights, and adjustable bolsters. Unless there's something I'm missing I feel like the 18 is the way to go....
Now if I could only find one that I don't feel is overpriced. I swear as I was looking at these 6-9 months ago the prices were just better than today and I'd rather not wait toooo long before pulling the trigger if I can find one in her colors, which of course has to be ceramic + red :\ but at least she's on board!

I'm definitely preferential to the 2018 GT2. I still don't actually OWN one haha but I've researched as much as I can and now I'm just waiting for the right car to roll around. Good luck in your search OP!

There is also a huge difference between some 2018 GT1 and GT2 that I’m not sure if it exists in the 2019 models!

In the 2018 model years the GT1 did not come with an LSD, and the GT2 did!
I am not sure about you but that is something I would look into if I had to decide between stingers of different trims levels!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

The only thing you’ll be missing with a 2018 GT2 over a 2019 GT1 is the wireless charger. I have a 2019 GT1 and I wish I had the 360 camera (just read those only came on 2019+ GT2) and powered hatch. Everything else I could care less about. Go with the GT2.

It sounds like you have to get a GT2 in order to get your list of wants. Welcome to the forum.

Once you go HUD, you don't go back. Worth it for that alone IMO.

Roof rattle has not been fixed for the 19's but I think dealers have figured out how to stop it.
Out of all the tech the Stinger has - the one thing I actually like the most and would be disappointed not having is the 360 camera - I do NOT like scratched rims and the cameras prevent this 99.9% of the time
If there's a way to add that to the GT I'd go that route
I have turned off all safety features for about a yr now - don't really need in my opinion unless you have a long commute or take trips often
360 camera and forward collision warning is what I've appreciated the most, HUD is very nice but I think I could live w/o it. First yr I had the car my eyes would go to the speedometer first and then the HUD
Don't add extended warranty, rim protection .... have never needed or come close to - I wasted $25-30 a month for nothing
