Finding something new everyday. Still learning the car.

1. If you unlock the doors and do not open any doors, it will auto lock all the doors after 30 seconds.

2. While changing my reverse lights to LEDs today, I wanted to see what they looked like. Had no help so I put the car in reverse and put on the emergency brake to see if it would hold. First time when I took my foot slowly off the foot brake to see if it would hold, it reverted to park. The second time I tried reverse with the emergency brake on ... slowly lifted off the foot brake, it held in reverse gear with the emergency brake holding it from rolling backwards. Was able to get out and look at the reverse lights. Was a hairy situation. Left the door open (in case she decided to disengage the emergency brake and roll back) so I could hop in and prevent a runaway car in reverse. Don't think I will ever do this again ... lol!

It's as if the Stinger had read your mind that second time... :p

#2 is the kind of situation that killed an actor... Chrysler didn't have that kind of safety in their transmission (it's also one of the joystick-type shifters). Didn't automatically shift to park, no e-brake, car rolled and killed the owner.

Anton Yelchin who played Chekhov in the "Star Trek movie reboots....he was crushed by his Jeep Grand Cherokee for that very reason. :(

Just don’t put it in drive and stand at the front to see if it creeps forward, it may get messy for you!:rofl:
Sorry Rango we appreciate your insight but could not resist. You’re welcome to give it back if you want!

Informative and brave, just brave! Lol

May not work with the Stinger, but I can shut my Sorento off while still in reverse. That's how I checked mine..

As to #1, I don't think I've ever owned a vehicle with remote lock/unlock that didn't re-lock after some time if no door was opened..

If you leave the sun roof open, or even tilted when you turn off the car, the instrument panel indicates this with a picture of the top of the car with a yellow square on the roof.

I'm not gonna say all kia's do this...but all the ones we owned since 2014 did the exact same thing.
interesting thing this morning, (it was still dark and I was parked in a flat parking area rear facing the store front. I switched to reverse (foot on brake) saw the reflection without incident.
To the op, is there a diy for the bulb to led write up, what led did you get? Was/is it easy? stuff like that......
