Hey,

I have had my stinger for a year now and I am finally going to pull the trigger and buy the jb4

My plan is to purchase the jb4 kit with the wireless adapter and the spark plugs as well as the vanity covers to protect it.

I have seen some install videos on the 2.5T and I have seen positive reviews from other users, but it hasnt been around long enough to get anything really concrete.

Do I need any other wires or adapters? I think they updated the tune and it no longer needs the fuel wires or any of the other adapters that used to be recommended.

Has anyone installed this on their 2.5T specifically? and has everything been smooth so far?

what gas do you use and what map do you daily?

any do's and dont's and any advice in general about it?

I dont have any other engine mods, this would be my first. I want to be able to continue to daily my stinger with an added boost. I don't want to buy into a bigger headache lol

No wires or adapters on the 2.5T and mounts on the driver side. Not on the other side like the 6 cylinder. It's pretty basic

JB4 and the bluetooth connect kit + the mobile app is all you need
91 is the minimum octane
no other mods needed

Always run the recommended maps , do not go with a map thats too aggressive for your mods or fuel and if you have any questions, ask it here or directly to BMS

Thank you for the info. I’m getting the Jb4 kit with the wireless adapter and the spark plugs and I’m adding the vanity covers.

Two questions for you. 1. Do you know what map is recommended for me? I have no other engine mods. No intake or exhaust. All my mods are exterior mods. The engine is completely stock aside from the new spark plugs and the Jb4.

2. A buddy of mine got his Jb4 fried when condensation entered it. He didn’t have the vanity covers which is why I’m getting them but my question is about the Jb4 itself. Can I wrap it with a waterproof tape or plastic or do I not need to do that at all? I’d like to put something on top of it to prevent any rain or moisture from entering it

Start with map 1

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
MAP level depends on octane used and whether ethanol is available, I've been running mine for the last year...if ethanol is not available, then your limited to MAP2. To my butt dyno, it feels like 30-35 more hp definitely fun and worth the cost of entry IMO. I do have access to ethanol, so I've used MAP3 too. Ethanol is cheap, about 2.50/gal near me, I put in about 4 gallons, maybe adds another 5-10hp over MAP2, supposed to be 2x the sum total, I'm skeptical, but regardless, its worth the $400(w/BT) I spent- picked it up used from a member here, would definitely recommend.

I’m so new to this I don’t even understand the gas and how it works lol

I fill my tank up premium every time and I believe it’s 93. I’ll have to start paying attention. With that, I can still only run up to map2 ?

And I’ll probably be fine with sticking to map2 and not worrying about the ethanol honestly.

I have the 2.5t and I know they made changes to the harness after BETA so idk if it’s better to buy used

JB4 hooks into your OBD2 port through your firewall. As long as you are using 93 octane, you will be limited to MAP2, which is kinda fine IMO and worth the small entry price. Unless they have updated the JB4, your only missing out on MAP3....I believe JB4 claims 100 extra ponies in MAP3, but I'm skeptical....feels more like 45-50...maybe
