• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Hey all...

So I am just curious is anyone here has the 2.0T 4-cyl stinger or is everyone running the 3.3TT V6?

I just got my yellow 2018 GT-line last week I test drove the GT as well which I could feel the power in, but have to say I am still pretty stoked with my 4cyl!

I went with the 4cyl because I got an awesome deal on it played $36,000 with 8,000km on the clock. Got it from a dealer that bought it from the kia auction, seems no one wants the 4cyl so they cant sell them. It's the only way I could afford a stinger in the first place haha

I think you'll find in Australia there's something like 80-90% of us have the top spec Gt 3.3V6. From memory 82%?

Great buy man.
That could well be one of the best value 4 cyl buys on the market. Well done.
PS... I was following a red GT-Line the other day too.

That's what I figured it would be. Haha I do wish I could have gotten the V6 GT but I don't think I could ever afford that much (2 small kids constantly draining my pockets haha)

Thanks, I was pretty stoked when they accepted they didnt at first. I offered $35k left it a week then $36k at top of my budget. Took them a while after that to accept, they kept trying to get more but I didn't budge, even got some extras thrown in for cheap

Love my 2.0 :)

And the voting is slightly off.. no such thing as a v4, it’s an i4 :)

My bad haha. Can't change it now :P

Im planning on badge stripping the boot to just have the large stinger instead of kia. Anyone else done this in perth? Care to give me a hand? Never removed badges beforr, looks easy enough from youtube tutorials, but always good to have someone who knows what they are doing there.

Do you think it's wrong if I put 2.0GT emblems on the front quarter panels after its done I'm not claiming it is a 3.3 just that it is 'gym (line) gt alone looks alot neater

Mate ... it's your ride. Mod away till your heart is content. You could not go too far wrong.
I have had the large rear script in my drawer for about year ... still deciding if removing the kia badge off the back is the right thing for me. As no one would know it is a kia from the back. I am actually proud it is. Stickin it to em is my thought...
Emblems on the front panels do look good imho. I'd do it.
All the best.

Want to do simple mods, easy things to take off if needed as well.

Looking at DB4 or commander throttle modifiers. I do love the power out of the car, but the lag in throttle response bugs me. I 06 lancer responded faster (albeit less power haha)

I think all Stingers should be GT. And in fact, 2020 US spec trims all are designated GT. Should have been that all the way, imho.

Oh really? So you would have the 200i, 330i and then 2.0.GT and 3.3GT?

I agree that makes sense and should have been that way. I guess it's different because the GT still gets some extras over the gt-line like been No breaks, digital gauges, nappa leather rather than standard leather and a couple of other minor things. I think both 2.0 and 3.3 GT should get all the same extras

When you look at the list of trim items you can see where Kia went with that and the options. For instance, "powered sunroof" is an option on the GT-Line (2.0L), but is entirely missing on the GT, but is included (not as an option) on the GT1 and GT2. Harman Kardon surround sound is an option on the GT-Line, but isn't on the GT; and is automatically part of the GT1 and GT2. The driver assist package can be had on the GT-Line as options, also on the GT, but most of it comes standard on the GT1 and GT2. So, Kia has firmed up the trims by dropping one, and made them more clear. If you want Brembo brakes and bigger wheels you're going to move up to at least a GT. If you want the HK sound system, you'll have to decide if your other wants mean a 3.3L trim, or will the 2.0L satisfy. Kia is saying that the regular brakes are good enough for the lighter car; and the 18" wheels and more sidewall are a look that goes with the 2.0L. This will leave some potential buyers unsatisfied. But the majority won't have a problem with the trims now, especially since they are "officially" all GT. :D

So I'm not quite a 2.0L owner yet but just got a call to say my GT Line S has just arrived at the dealers so should be able to pick it up next week, getting a bit excited not just because it's a great car but it's also my first ever new car.

We share that in common: I've never owned a new car before the Stinger. It's everything and more that I hoped it would be.
