Hello. I just purchased a Stinger 2.0T Premium AWD yesterday, and today the engine oil warning indicator turned on. I immediately brought my Stinger to the dealership. The Kia mechanics confirmed that there was oil leak on my car and told me to leave it at the dealership. It's been driven less than 90 miles. Has anyone in this forum experienced the same issue?

Update. I was told that the engine needed to be replaced. I was offered full refund or exchange with a new Stinger. I really liked the vehicle anyway so I took the exchange.

Wow, glad they did you right.. Did they tell you where the leak was at or anything?

How could they have missed that at the dealership?

They could not locate where the leak was coming from. As far as they confirmed, there was no loose cap or tube damage and the engine should be replaced. The dealership was very helpful though. Gave me zero hassle.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I would wager a buck that they somehow cracked the oil filter housing. It's made out of plastic and is easy to break if too much torque is applied during an oil change.

That shouldn't have been touched though, car was new with only 90 miles on it.

Right, it "shouldn't" have been touched. But something definitely got touched during those 90 miles to make it start leaking. No way it left the port like that.

*edit: I'm not saying the port is somewhere where cars can't be damaged but think of all the evidence of a leak that would be present if the car was shipped to the dealership with a leak.

glad they gave you a complete exchange, we all complain so much on here it's rare to hear a good story about a dealership :)
