Sup all,

I have had my 2020 Stinger GT AWD for about a year, so the first scheduled maintenance is coming up. Due to covid, I was working from home for several months, so I only have like 3500 mileage on it. Still, 12 months has gone by. I read on one kia site that at 3K only a oil change is needed but another kia site said they start at 6k.

What did you all do for yours yearly checkup?

Normal Factory Maintenance - 6K
  • Replace climate control air filter
  • Replace engine oil and filter
  • Rotate tires
  • Check if Fuel Additive is required (Only necessary if TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline is not available. Add'l cost if needed)
  • Inspect air conditioner compressor (if equipped)
  • Inspect air conditioner refrigerant (if equipped)
  • Inspect battery condition
  • Inspect brake lines, hoses and connections
  • Inspect disc brakes and pads
  • Inspect drive shafts and boots
  • Inspect exhaust pipe and muffler
  • Inspect intercooler, in/out hose and air intake hose
thanks all!

Your climate control air filter sounds like the cabin filter in the back of the glove box. It likely doesn't need to be done. When it does, they take 5- 7 minutes to replace yourself and it's SUPER easy. Empty the glove box's contents, twist the side circular holders one turn each so the door flops down, unclip the filter swing door to hinge towards the front seat. Check on YouTube. Same procedure as an Optima or Sportage. Just make sure you replace the new filter keeping the air directional arrows in the right orientation. If the dealer does at this time they are 1) going to charge you $65.00 all in for a ~$30 filter and 2) doing this filter change too early IMO based on the miles driven. The other items make sense to check since you're one year in. Have them run their fingers across the rotors and report back on any waves on them as they rotate and inflate your tires. Good luck!

thanks! And I changed my air and cabin intakes with K&N Air Filters, so they should never be removed, just cleaned if need be

You sound like me....6 months with the car and I've got about 700 miles so far. Just got a flyer from my local dealership for a free oil change that expires mid December. I might have 1000 miles on it by then but it will be close to 9 months old so figured I might as well take advantage of the free oil change.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Low (covid) miles. Hah. I do not understand. The 3.5K miles oil change would be for "severe driving conditions" not normal conditions. I get my oil replaced every c. 4K miles (we have a lot of salt laid down in winter).

The only reason i did i brought it in was because the manual says 12 months or 10k miles, whichever comes first.
