Hello everyone, how many miles till a have my first oil change. Got a 2021 gt and I was wondering if you change with 3k 5k or before that, tks!!!!

I’d change at 3k then every 6k.

There is this magical book. It speaks of the future. RTFM.

I did my first oil change at 3K. Been doing 7K mile intervals since then.

The owner's manual was my mealtime read, my bathroom read and my bedtime read. Even so, I still have to refer to it (or them, if you count the media and warranty books) rather often.

Nonetheless, I'll answer because I like to: 3K is for "severe driving conditions"; normal is 6K miles. Around here we get salted roads in the winter, but for eight, nine months out of the year driving conditions are not severe; so, I opt to change oil every c. 4K miles.

I did mine at 1k and again at 3k. 1k was full of glitter. Some break in pieces in the filter but seemed like KIA uses a lot of assembly lube. Happy I changed it early, I can't imagine it hurts to remove all those fine particles moving through the engine early.

Did you use synthetic oil, if you don't mind me asking how much you paid for, tks .

I did my first (oil only) at 1,000 miles. I’ll do the next one at 5,000 (with filter too). And I’ll change it every 5,000 after that. I used Castrol Edge 5W-30, which cost something like $25 per 5-gallon jug.

I used Mobil 1 5W-30 EP. As long as it meets ACEA A5/B5, that's the spec for our weight. I need around 6.5 qts to reach full on the dipstick, that's including the filter change.

Any specific reason why you only changed the oil and not also the filter in your first time? Tks!!!

Honestly - not really other than laziness. :D Since I used an oil extractor I didn't have to lift up the car to even drain the oil pan.
