I just wanted to know if anyone has run this setup.

Alot of what I see on here for 18" is a 8" width.

Any reason to not run 10.5" width square?

Besides not fitting in the front?

Well I am just curious if its possible to run a square setup with 285's even if its on a 19.

Or can you do 265's at most square with a 10" width?

I doubt a 10" wheel is gonna fit up front. Widest tire I recall seeing is a 255. There's a ton of info on these forums.

Yea I have been digging around for a few hours now and it looks like my best bet is a square 19" x 9" setup on 265 or 255.

I dont wont crazy poke I just want to get the power down.

Tire compound is a bigger factor than size.

In some cases sure.

But 225 is very skinny for fronts even with RWD for something that makes 365 hp.

And it's very easy to lose grip with stock wheels even with a boat this heavy.

Absolutely!

.. if you're measuring 10ths on a track or autocross.

You are not going to get some amazing handling transformation with wider tires. Yes, I have wider wheels and tires, that's strictly because I got a deal from someone on wheels I liked, that happen to be wider. If I was motivated enough to buy them new, I wouldn't go wider than stock. There's no useful benefit on the street. In fact, I'd say it's a detriment, because if you do use up that extra few % of grip, you're that much closer to very bad things happening if you hit a spot of oil or gravel.

I will be autocrossing again this year, but I don't care enough about my times to even record them. My daughter and I just like to have fun.

It's not only that but it is also the ability to rotate my tires and get a longer lifespan out of my tires rather than 13k miles on mp4s's.
Running a square set up here! 19X8.5 with 255 tires.

I’m running 245/35/19 on the front & 275/30/19 on the rear & I have definitely noticed the footprint on the road has increased, but when you talk about grip many factors come into play, most importantly is the quality of tyre, suspension set up, braking capabilities, the road surface & weather conditions.
I find the setup I chose perfect for the look I was after & my driving style. With wider tyres up front I do notice in low speed turning (ie: parking lots) there seems to be increased resistance in the steering so any wider upfront could also have an adverse long term effect on the steering.
