The first ads have started to appear NA automotive magazines. A speed of 0-60 in 4.6 has been confirmed by Car and Driver and more reviews to come. ;)

Wow! 0-60 in 4.6 seconds! That's amazing! Can you link me to this article? I want to brag about this and I need proof! :p

Before you are all getting too excited: the usual measurement is 0 to 100 km/h, which translates to roughly 0 - 62mph.
We are running 100 meter sprints, not 90 meter! :)
Which is not to say, that 0 - 62 mph was meant, and "60" was only a typo. Just sayin'....

Compare this write-up to the above review: This is why I complained somewhere else on this forum that a follow-up review "at more normal speeds" should be done by the same person.
The Nürburgring is not the smoothest track, and if the car was really being "thrown about", somebody would have surely noticed in 20,000 km of 'Ring testing....

C&D uses a proprietary correction factor to take all of that into account. So at least all of their test results can be compared against one another, even though they were not tested at the same time.

Also these numbers were achieved on 87 Octane. So there may be "instant improvement" by simply switching to 93 Octane.

You seem adamant about this. So I went back and re-read multiple reports about the Kia sponsored green hell drive. Several items stood out.
  • They ONLY drove the North loop. This may not have presented the same "track challenges" as those seen during the C&D test.
  • They had to follow a chase car with a pro driver. So they could not choose their own lines, pace, etc. This could have lead to a very different driving experience when C&D was on their own with the car.
  • And last but seemingly the MOST important item: "the vehicles are wearing Euro-spec brake pads and suspension components because Americans prefer things quieter and softer". If the model C&D tested was fitted with the "American-spec" suspension (the one Motortrend tested was) then that could explain the very different behavior. I don't know what suspension tuning Canada is getting. But I can't imagine it would be very different than the US.
