100hp gain

Im looking to add at least 100hp to my 2020 gt-line awd do any of you guys have any suggestions or ideas?
It’s a big forum but in order to extract information from it you will have to do some reading. Oh sure if you stick your little silver spoon in the odd guy/gal will give you a bit of coddling but the real info comes from personal effort and lots of reading. Good luck with your hunt for a hundred.

Howdy. As already recommended: trade up to a 3.3TT and go from there. :D:P

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I'd trade in that GT line and go from there. Not much potential from that 4 banger.

JB4 will help you get as much out of it as you safely can. :)

What Terry said.......i too, own the 2.0T and have the jb4/plugs/k&N panel filter. Not interested in further mods as i am 50/50 on trading up to the GT in about 8 months. My take on gains for the 2.0T boiled down to getting the performance out of it that it should have had from the factory; it's a STINGER for Christ sakes! 2.0 or 3.3......... The jb4 does it for me and it is a LOT more fun to drive......boils down to personal preference. Enjoy!

Go get a GT. Throwing on every bolt-on you can and a JB4 MIGHT get you near the conversation of what a stock GT can do. Maybe.

From "Oryan".........

'' 2019 Aurora Black GT1 RWD
JB4 | HKS Plugs | Agency Power Intakes | Wagner Tuning FMIC w/piping | Wagner Tuning CF Intake Ducts | Thermal R&D Catback | Ark SecDPs | BMS OCC | Ark Springs | ATQ Subframe Bushings | BMS Differential Brace | GFB Mach2 BOVs | Vossen HF-1 Tinted Gloss Black 20x9+32F, 20x10.5+45R, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ 245/35/20F 285/30/20R ""

..........HMMMMMMMMMMMM??? with all this, it appears the "stock" GT didn't do it for you.....what are you aiming for, a "stock" Supra???????? If the 2.0 is preferred, i guess it doesn't matter what it takes to add 100hp.....Since the weight balance is better in the 2.0, with swaybar upgrade for minimal cost, a 2.0 w/jb4 will actually "out perform" the GT in the curves. Of course the straight is a different story so credit for that.

....What? Ignoring the first line because it's hardly coherent.

Second, you asked the question, and if a cost-effective way to an extra 100HP is your goal, getting a GT is the easiest way to do it. Just because you don't like that answer...Don't know what to tell you. Not much aftermarket support for the 2.0T because so many people are buying the GTs anyway, especially those looking to mod the car. I'm sure you can coax GT-like power out of that Theta engine because other platforms have also done so...but it took them a while to do so and the cost involved would easily exceed whatever you'd do to just get into a base GT while being far and away less reliable at that point.

But you're set on the GT-line and that's perfectly fine. However I'm not sure a swaybar and jb4 will magically make a 2.0T handle better than the GT because I don't think the GT-line handles much better to begin with. Sure, it's a bit lighter and closer to 50/50 than the GT because no V6 on the nose. But you're missing the GT's brakes, suspension, the lack of a limited slip WILL make itself evident when you're chucking the car in a corner, AWD or not, tires, espeically if you got saddled with the hockey-puck stock all-seasons.. I'd be surprised if a AWD 2.0T with a JB4 probably on map 1 and a rear sway bar could get away from a stock AWD GT, let alone a stock RWD.

I do amend my previous suggestion though. Given more insight to your goals the G70 2.0T Sport may be closer to what you want as a starting car, if trading was on the table. Even lighter, even closer to 50/50, much sharper and precise handling, smaller, and gets a lot of the other bits I discussed earlier that are on the GT/3.3T G70 trims.

The GT handles pretty well for a car its size... Especially with all that torque to launch out of corners ;)

I'm just messing around, but I do know most of the performance mods are for the 3.3tt so I wish you luck finding an extra 100hp with what's commercially available.

Not sure who the response was for but i am not the GT-Line guy.....i do have the 2.0T and i think it has a lot of potential but i will agree, that coaxing an additional 100hp from the platform would require quite a bit of additional cost. However, with the right components, you could get a Kia Forte to "out handle" a GT....i think someone named it "physics"?????? why do you think the Focus RS was such a popular platform? I am just biding my time until i step up to the GT......but have no regrets for getting the 2.0.....just to be clear.

Of course it's easier to get a small car to handle better than a big car. They're lighter and have shorter wheelbases. This is a non sequitur, nobody is saying the Stinger GT outhandles every other car on the road so there's no need to be comparing it to custom Fortes or a hot hatch like the Focus RS.

Just making the point for the sake of "GT-Line" who is looking for suggestions on how to get another 100hp from the 2.0. The question was not which is the better powertrain but it appears that is where some folks wanted to take it.....

Agreed. To answer the OP's question. It's probably doable to get an extra 100 hp, but it's more reasonable to try to go for around 40-50hp which will put the car in the sweet spot of ~300 crank hp which is great for daily driving. A tune (JB4), intake, and exhaust will get you there for a reasonable investment. However, keep in mind the 2.0 is one of the infamous Theta II engines and while many Optimas have been tuned for really high hp, there are many theta ii engines that have blown up. Because of that I would recommend staying conservative with the mods or just being satisfied with it the way it is.

Highly agree......i have/had(can be explained) the 2.0T and felt that even though it has an increase in power for the Stinger platform, it is a little "overwhelmed" for the 3400lb Stinger. With this engine, conservative would be the way to go....If you are going to use the jb4 and other mods, MAP 2 and occasionally 3 would be it to get additional power and maintain reliability but an extra 100hp would require some "beefing up". Even though the 3.3 is more robust, i would not push it much further either....
