1000 km (620 miles) oil change

Have you done an oil change after 1000 km (around 620 miles)?

When I got the Stinger GT-Line last year, nobody at the dealership told me about the first 1000 km oil change. I asked some of my other friends with the GT, and they said to me that they were told to do an oil change at 1000 km.
I'm not sure if that oil change is for the 3.3L engine only or not. If it's mandatory on the 2.0T as well, do you think any damage was done to the engine because I did the first oil change after 10,000 km (6200 miles)?

Not aware of an oil change needed at 620 miles.

What does your manual say? I am sure its the same all over the world just follow their recommendations.

The last time I read the manual, I don't remember it saying anything about a 1000 km oil change, but it got me worried that all my friends with the GT did it and I haven't.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
This is analogous to why people start wearing masks. Hah.

I do not believe in "particulates" in the brand new engine that need to be "flushed out". It's a myth, that brand new engines have some collection of "shavings" or whathaveyou. These engines are stress tested for hours before they go into a car. Follow the manual. Oh, that's already been said. Well, do that.

I took mine in at 4k and the dealer told me I was early for my first oil change. I told them to do it anyways.

I work with a lot of smaller engines and they tend to come with a mineral based oil to "break in" the engine. Recommended with an early oil change at about 30 hours, after that every 200 with synthetic. I would hope when they sold us the cars they would tell us if there was a break in oil that would need to be changed early.

I always do mine after the first 1000km. Not taking my chances of getting that engine that has particulates. It can happen. I do it for piece of mind and to switch to fully synthetic.. It's worth the $30
