Hi everyone,

Long story short, I bought 2018 GT LIMITED with 38k Km Stock today from a dealership in Quebec, Canada. As soon I leave the dealership I go to a gas station to fuel the car.

I immediately start driving on the highway and I accelerate up to 120km/h. As soon I hit the 120km/h I’ve heard a lound sound (Knocked) from the from the front hood and I don’t feel anymore of power and the acceleration is garbage. So I drive until I get on a none busy street and I try to do a 0-100km/h as fast as I can with my foot completely on the accelaration… it took me 12 seconds. This was absolutely the worst experience in my life and I just feel that I got played by the dealer.

There’s no Carfax on the vehicule and 12 maintenance done on it. I just don’t know what to do. I will drive back tomorrow to the dealership to find the issue. If someone had a similar issue with there Stinger feel free to tell me if you might know the issue. It would help me a lot. Much appreciated in advance.

That sound may have been one of the silicone charge pipe couplers popping off resulting in no intake pressure.

If that happened to me Id 100% exercise the return/walkaway policy that a lot of dealerships have for 7 days after purchase or whatever it is.

How did it accelerate during your test drive?

You’re on point. Went to the dealer next day and they told me it’s was the charge pipe couplers that weren’t connected. Thanks you !

Is the car tuned? Charge pipes popping off is more common on cars running higher boost than factory.

The car running good now. In took them less than 5 minutes to fix it. I bought as well a extended warranty up to180000km.

No the car is stock. There was only one previous owner and he was 75 years old when he sold it. I don’t believe he needed to tuned the car haha

Perfect but I didn’t had the chance to test drive on the highway. Now I know I must test drive always on the highway to determine if the engine is running good but everything is good now since it was the charged pipes couplers that weren’t connected.

Always take it on the highway.

Glad to hear it was not a serious issue

Not only to see how it runs at hwy speeds but you also want to get the RPMs up, especially on a car that's already passed it's break-in period. Glad it was an easy fix.
