LSD Noise, when cold

Will do. Prob 2-3 weeks away.
The advice was that they heard the noise on cold start. They removed the diff fluid and they could see metal fragments which they did a video for Kia Warranty. Kia advised the diff is being replaced in about 2 weeks - coming from Korea. Still driving with new diff fluid for a few weeks.

Just wondering will replacement of diff fluid help? New diff usually needs run in and do create metal shaving. The shaving maybe causing the momentary lost of slipping properties thus causing the lockup. Maybe just by changing diff fluid will help. This happened on my Evo's previously. Never felt it was an issue after fluid replacement.

A true limited slip diff uses a additive that allows the clutch discs to slip, if the stinger does in fact use a clutch type rear end and it didnt have the "fish oil" it would bind in tight corners and fail. The mustangs dont use this type of rear end, and there are so many types of limited slip rear ends its hard to know if they just didn't get setup properly or were serviced incorrectly, etc etc. The newer tacoma ones were low on fluid.

My former 1997 Pontiac Firebird Trans am with LSD required a General Motors (AC Delco) additive, and Chrysler (Mopar) has one too. Both are usable in any car with LSD.
I really thought my Stinger GT2 LSD has this additive mixed with the LSD oil.....very bad Kia.....
I have to add this additive right away, before metal shaving ocurrs...

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Unfortunately I just had the same issues and Kia said the whole differential must be replaced.

It really sucks, but at least it didn’t lock up my tires while driving like another member posted. Guess it could have been worse and glad I caught it before it became serious.

They did try to flush it and refill with fluid/lubricant first, but it still failed all their tests. I’m waiting for an update now but they said it probably will take about 2 weeks for a replacement.

I hope its sooner as I’ve never missed a car more in my life. I keep having Stinger withdrawals and need my BOOST fix!;) Lol

This sucks. I just got my car yesterday!!! That’s right brand new owner here but I think I may have this problem. Woke up this morning to drive to work and I hear this grinding strange noise coming from the car. Then it goes away after driving for maybe a mile. Park the car and goto work, come out for lunch for a drive and again screeching strange noise from car and it goes away again and all is fine. I call the dealership and take it to them after work. Start the car and drive again weird noises. Spent 45 minutes talking to salesman then take him for a ride and he hears it. So I have to bring it to them tomorrow morning. I’m not happy right now. Brand new and it’s going in tomorrow. Build date 2/18 3.3 awd. This sucks!

I don't know if it is the same you guys described here, but when my car is cold I do hear squeaking/cracking noise coming from the back when I simply steer a little bit or gently release the brake. My old car was doing the same. I always thought that were the cold brakes doing that noise. Generally after a few min the noise is gone. Now I am wondering if this is what you're describing.
