Yeah! That doesn't look like any dummy got in and out of that seat 20K times, does it? I'm appealing to Kia's claim that in testing the upholstery they put "Mini-jun" their 165 lb test dummy in and out of the car to reflect c. 13 years of getting in and out of a car four times a day (your number; heh! I'd say you missed that by more than a skosh!).Be prepared to be horrified...apparently they've lodged a warranty claim.
Yeah, same people would suggest can "avoid" having your faulty Takata airbag going off....I get it, it's a nice car, and you don't want to put the blame on the car. But it's like the subwoofer thing, or the hatch rattle, or the paint. It got ignored and people were told it was their fault repeatedly until it became a common enough thing that people accepted it as a real flaw.
Being able to avoid a problem doesn't mean that it should exist though. Telling people they're doing it wrong *cough* Steve Jobs *cough* shouldn't be used to cover up an unfortunate flaw. Seats should be designed to withstand years and years of in/egress, and while doing it wrong will obviously have an impact on the lifetime of the leather, your butt shouldn't be able to rub the seat (a surface designed for butts) apart after a few hundred 'incorrect' entrances.
So yeah, you can probably avoid it, but it raises legitimate concerns regardless.
What about everybody else who isn't getting scuffs? I think that the common denominator is the driver paired to a Stinger. A different configuration causes different rubbing points, etc. I know that I get in and out of this car in ways I have never moved before. What about the person who owns a few cars, and only one has premature seat wear? Is he entering the affected car " incorrectly" and the others correctly?

Ford sold over 3 million Pintos. Lawyers claimed 3 deaths and 4 serious injuries from fuel tank fires after rear end collisions.....clearly the fault of those filling the tank incorrectly by your logic. Anyway, everyone is entitled to an opinion. Kia replaced mine under warranty. I'm monitoring the new scuffing. What about everybody else who isn't getting scuffs? I think the correct grammar is scuffing not scuffs. LolWhat about everybody else who isn't getting scuffs? I think that the common denominator is the driver paired to a Stinger. Is "scuffs" another one of those Aussie esoteric meanings for a word that everybody else uses without concern?I think the correct grammar is scuffing not scuffs. Lol
Right back at ya!![]()
Really ??Isn’t there a pill for premature seat wear?
Oh sorry wrong premature...lol!
No it is a description for a pair of shoes. Is "scuffs" another one of those Aussie esoteric meanings for a word that everybody else uses without concern?
How appropriate. I am very careful where I place my "scuffs", especially getting in and out of my car.No it is a description for a pair of shoes.
Keep them on your feet would be a good idea. The scuffing comes from your butt! How appropriate. I am very careful where I place my "scuffs", especially getting in and out of my car.
