Civic? I’m not sure I’d claim that as a race!!

Check out YouTube, Motor Magazine 2018 Performance Car of the Year. Out of ten cars, Stinger came in 10 and Type R was number 1. Don't think that meant it was the fastest in a straight line though.

Another video has Stinger/Base 2.0 winning car of the year. Competition was: Accord, Camry, etc.

Type-R is supposed to be pretty fast and also crushed the Stinger on Nurburgring. The Stinger only has a .2 faster 0-60, so it shouldn’t have been a killing.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Type R is totally driver dependent given manual trans. Faster N Ring times just a function of way better handling and more than 1000 lbs lighter in Type R.

Hummm, I hate to say it but might be driver error in the type r, those are bad@ass cars with a lot of fake vents. It should have been close with the Stinger in the lead, the type r does have a higher top then the Stinger also.

agree, missed shifts, etc etc etc

It's actually not all that fast in a straight line, a stock stinger should take it easily, with a mod'd exhaust it would totally smoke it.

These type of threads just make me laugh. "I smoked a XXXXXXXX today". First off, did they know you were racing? Most likely not.

It's pretty obvious (and not uncommon) when someone pulls up alongside and revs their engine. Usually accompanied by a gesture or a head-nod. Used to happen at least a couple of times a month when I was driving a "sporty" car. Heck, happened at least a couple of times *per drive* when I took one of our modified cars out.

hes the one who asked for it, i think most people know when it is a race, as someone already stated, he probably missed a shift or something, not my fault he cant drive his car

I don't think he missed a shift, the Stinger GT is faster than a turbo four.

Hahah.... love it.

Look up on You Tube the Mustang GT (460HP) vs Stinger AWD (365HP) drag race. Stinger kicked ass.

The video you're referencing isn't a 460 hp mustang. It's one of the older ones (probably 2013ish) and it has a manual transmission.

FWIW a 2018 Mustang (the 460 hp you mention) with automatic transmission would absolutely beat a Stinger.

Mod Edit: Changed a word

Type R probably didn't care to waste the fuel. Those cars are monsters.

13.5 @ 108 is where Car n Driver puts the 2018 Civic Type R. Unfortunately, a manual giving a big chance of driver fail.

Formidable...
