So I am dropping my Stinger off for Repaint...

The bumper (paint peeling) below the headlights is a major issue. This is widespread.
I've been looking for those and luckily nothing. Maybe different Stingers have different tightness on the headlight housing. I'll be watching out for it, though.

This is off a premium. I kept the bumper.
The chipping you see around emblem is from us. You cannot transfer the old emblem. As we found out.

Judging by the turn around I can say that they will only be painting the front panels.

The front panels? The fenders and quarters on both sides as well as a spot on the back all have the issue.

Have you tried to get them to buy back the car, seriously? This is going to be a major hassle.

With even more reason the 4 day turn around time seems too quick for a complete repaint. They are more likely going to repair only those areas that are currently affected. This is not a complete car repaint job.

Not being negative, but it almost sounds like you are guaranteed to have more issues unless they do a full repaint. Both sides and the back? Yikes.

I do not want a "MAACO" job done.
Maaco does good work, actually. A freshly sprayed car looks good from six feet away ;) Seriously, how OC are we going to be about this? Driving is like entering battle. Dodging road debris and sometimes the very roads themselves, not to forget all the other maroon drivers. So our "Babe" looks great rolling off the showroom floor. A week later we see things are already happening. No matter how careful we are, and sometimes even we screw up and damage our own "Precious" and utter words Mother never taught us, etc. The thing about Maaco is that they have all levels of painting and body work available. They are not merely a scratch and spray outfit. If you want to pay upwards of six grand you can have a layered, lacquered job done. In other words, Maaco, any body and paint shop, can produce a job that is superior to any mass produced factory paint. It won't happen in four days, though ...

Man guys that is terrible! I have silver, no issues.

We are among the ranks of the "blessed". But don't forget, the paint on our Silky Silvers is still very, very thin. There is nothing distinctly robust about any Kia paint job. Failure of the job is entirely different. But down the road, all Stingers are going to look like hell. I'm guessing within three to five years, no matter how careful we are. It's a great car by all indicators. So worthy of repainting and keeping. Then it'll actually be a better car than when brand new.

I do not see this as being the front only. Yellow has paint falling off the back end.

Judging by what I've read on this forum over the last couple of weeks, Kia ought to just have every yellow that is brought in, taken down to the metal and resprayed entirely.

So before these issues popped up I got my front end covered with Suntek Ultra and the rest of the car ceramic coated with ceramic pro. My concern is what happens if paint issues occur for me way down the road because the Suntek or ceramic pro kept them from coming up earlier? Me nervous. But no issues yet. Got the car in December, 8k miles, got ceramic pro at 6k miles, Suntek at less than 1k miles. Red GT2 here.

Well, you have three years on the warranty so keep a close eye on the parts that aren't wrapped. From what I've read, ceramic coating isn't hard enough to actually prevent chipping.

It seems to me that all of you who get paint protection before any visible spots "pop out" are only going to suffer once your paint protection gives out; many years down the road even for the cheaper kinds; and if you opted for really high quality, warrantied paint protection, then the day of reckoning is further out still. I wouldn't be worrying about failing paint that isn't allowed to fail because it is "kept down"! Take that, failing paint! It's like sitting on it hard to keep it from moving.

This paint appears to fail from the base-coat. From the bottom up is the way I see it.

I am in the same boat. Tried to be proactive and may end up hurting in the end. I will certainly be a hawk on my entire car. i already have the headlight issue but am willing to forgo repair or respray till further down to ensure no other panels (not covered in PPF) show any issue. I might even have to remove bumper PPF or Fender to see how the paint goes. Id rather replace one or two pieces of PPF early instead of findout out the paint is destroyed well after the paint warranty (3yr) and prior to PPF warranty (10yr).

I do have a yellow so maybe that will change things if they offer a full respray. At that point i will most likely try to get them to cover re PPF but i may end up eating it in the end for a new paint coat.

My headlight corners are the only place showing issue as of right now. Like, you, entire front end is otherwise covered in PPF.

I suppose for the US, there are only 400 of these so maybe that is an option. I would certainly entertain and bare metal redo as buyback of the car is not a good option for me
