I have a 2018 GT2 with about 56k miles on it. I’m having a recent issue with the car taking about 1/2 to a full second to down shift to a lower gear when I floor the throttle. Something you might do in an emergency to avoid an accident or when passing a car on a two lane road. It is like the car is trying to decide what to do when I punch it. I don’t remember this ever being an issue until about a week ago. When it does down shift, the acceleration is smooth and the car accelerates quickly. It isn’t throwing any codes, starts, idles and runs smoothly. Just acts like it trying to decide what to do for about a second when I punch it. Doesn’t matter what mode I select on the car. Anybody have any ideas? I haven’t changed anything on the car and I use the same gas station I’ve used for years. Thanks.

Have you had the left turbo oil feed line recall done? This sounds like something has induced turbo lag.

Does it behave differently in different drive modes (Eco vs. Comfort vs. Sport)?

And are you pressing the pedal all the way until the kickdown button clicks? You shouldn't need that much throttle for a downshift, but I'd expect the kickdown switch to force an immediate one (if there's something wonky in the throttle downshift logic), unless it's a physical issue with the transmission (it's getting the signal but laggy in performing the actual shift).

A reset of the transmission adaptive values may be worthwhile.

I agree. I would reset the trans adaptive values before anything else. These cars tend to store the worst possible habits for the transmission instead of the good ones.
