Parking sensors "check system"

hey guys, I ended up hitting a mailbox the other week after falling asleep behind the wheel after getting off of work. Ever since then the car has been displaying a "check system" error with the warning logo at the front of the car. It's weird because when I put the car in reverse the front sensors will work, but when the car is in drive it gives me that message and doesn't work. Anyone experienced the same or know a fix? Thanks.

It might be the forward collision sensor, I believe it is different than the camera. I think its like a little radar that measures distance.
Did you hit in the center of the front bumper?

No it was more on the drivers side but again I was asleep so maybe the initial hit was the center... I should go check on that sensor
