Evening gents,

I was looking at a 19 stinger today. It was the first one I’ve ever driven and I was quite impressed however, I did notice that there was no power liftgate option. What model trim do I need to look for in order to have the power liftgate?
So surprised that this would have to be a “option“ I haven’t seen a manual liftgate in probably 15 years.

Thanks in advance

Yep no liftgate and no heated steering wheel what a bummer for the amount of money we spend

My stinger doesn't have the power lift gate. It's not that big of a deal to open it (or close it). In fact, one less thing to break at some point.

Are you short? A household member around 5'1' can't reach the top to close it once opened. I suppose a rope can be fashioned in some manner to ease this issue.

No, it’s merely a convenience factor. I’ve had power tailgates on all my vehicles for the last 15 years or so… This feels like I’m stepping back into the early 2000s. Seems like a huge oversight on Kia‘s part, such a simple thing that should be included, (in my opinion), on all stingers regardless of trim.

I hear you. More cost cutting measures.

My Stinger is the first I ever had with a power tailgate. Still an option on many cars.

Why go that route? The 3.3TT is much better and I doubt you give up much mileage wise. Don
For me it’s about mileage. I’m in real estate so I do a fair amount of driving. The 300 hp out of the 2.5 is plenty, the 3.5 would just be overkill (but fun), and the gas mileage drops pretty sharply

I would argue that you could get almost as good mileage out of the 3.3 except for the fun factor, just can't help yourself with that s**t eating grin all the time.

Howdy and welcome. A power liftgate is your deal breaker? That's an odd one I haven't heard before. The hatch swings open at the lift of a finger, literally, the last half of the travel it almost lifts itself. Mine is over 4.5 years old and still works like brand new. (Advice, never slam your hatch lid, always lower it to c. five inches and let it drop.)

I've still never had a power tailgate. '16 Pathfinder didn't have it either. I mean, I've had decklids that can pop open because they are all under spring tension, but nothing motorized.

Weird hangup. I hear Odyssey's have them :p

I’m coming from owning Lexus and Mercedes, so I guess I’m a little spoiled lol

Why hate on the man because it's something he wants? Everyone has their preferences. I too am looking at stingers and would have been happy with the 4-cyl, but am now looking to go with the GT2 because I want a power liftgate as well. It was standard on my current 2012 Infiniti FX35. Some other vehicles I've considered over the stinger have it and are not premium brands (CX9 has it standard, CX5 has it starting on Grand Touring which is a mid-level option line, then it's also on GT Reserve and Signature)

I'm also struggling with the poor choice of interior colors (which is not only Kia, black seems to have become the overwhelming standard for so many brands) - but I really dislike black interiors, but that's about all you can find on the Hi-Chroma Red which is my preferred color. I have seen one unicorn that was Red on Red, but it seems extremely rare. The other color I like is blue which thankfully I have seen some with the greyish/tan interior. My other dealbreaker for me that I've passed on a few 2018s is the surround view monitor -- first thing I'm looking at when looking at the used car ads are the interior photos to see if it has that 'view' button on the center console.

At any rate, it's just something the guy wants. I'm sure you all had your non-negotiable options too whether major or trivial.

@tommybluez The black interiors hide dirt and clothing dye transfer well. We had light grey in our accord. By the time it was sold, the drive seat wasn't so light any more.
