As spring approaches, it's time to start looking for an intercooler upgrade. A friend with a G70 came across this one in his search that looks interesting. IMR Custom Stinger and G70 FMIC System (Group Buy)

Is anyone currently using this one and if so what are your thoughts?

I'd be interested in hearing other peoples thoughts also.

A bunch of us local guys (Tampa area) just did a group by last Friday with him. I didn't talk directly to them but from how quick questions were getting answered he seems very responsive and reasonable.

He also said they'll be releasing a charge pipe option very soon if you want to add that on.

He was waiting on another shipment of cores but he was expecting to get them all shipped out later this week. If you're still wondering by the time I get them I'll stop back in and take pictures/follow up with quality.

Good luck, they took 5 months for what they promised 1 month and I had to charge back to get a refund.

I actually just installed mine last night. Communication throughout the order was top notch. Can't say enough about how good the guys are.
Everything bolted up fine and works great on the car on the one day I've driven it with the kit on.
I would say if you want a show perfect intercooler kit, buy something more expensive. The kit works but you can tell they are still refining it. As such some of the finishes are still not quite the same as more expensive alternatives.
That being said if you're looking for an economical kit to just help with Florida heatsoak like I was, you really can't how wrong with it.20210216_231854.webp

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I ordered two of these, one for my Stinger and one for a buddies G70. Once I receive them I'll give my thoughts on the install for both platforms and how they perform compared to stock.

That looks REALLY low. You slammed or really lowered? Or is it just the angle of the pic make it look like its 2 inches off the ground?

Probably a mix of the angle, the splash shield sagging because it isn't attached to anything, and the fisheye lens. Its just on ARK GT-F springs so not crazy low in person. Here it is with bumper on:20210218_110541.webp

Yeah its not as low as it was looking lol. I cant get to the link on my computer, how much are these going for with the charge piping? I would be interested.

I am on the web site now. They show "sold out" on the 600HP core. Price would be $649 for core+lower charge pipe, $899 for core+upper pipe, $1099 for full kit.
The 800HP core version appears to be available, $699 for core+lower pipe, $749 for core+upper, $1199 for full kit.

Thanks for the feedback!
Did you go with the 6 or 800hp core and is this the full kit or partial?

Much appreciated and looking forward to what you have to say.
Looking to buy an intercooler before the summer months arrive and this has my curiosity.

They didn't have any of those options when I bought mine. Think they said it was 600hp core and I said that was about 150 more than I ever planned on doing.
Also partial kit. Just intercooler and two pipes on either side of it.

Hello,
Just to confirm, so you had no mods to do, no holes to drill for this installation of IMR intercooler on your Stinger ? All holes lined up ?
Thanks

I recently purchased the 600hp full IMR Intercooler kit. I'll post pictures and descriptions once I get it installed. I was quoted a 3-4 week lead time as of yesterday.

Does the kit come with other components to give you 600hp, or does the intercooler just support up to 600hp?
Don't think an intercooler alone will net 600hp, this would require serious tuning.

It will not give me 600hp. It's the core that supports up to 600hp. They have the option of choosing a 600hp and 800hp core.

I was trying to post the link to the IMR Intercooler page, but the messageboard won't allow me to share links due to my being a newer member.

I see you have the eibach sways. How do you like the feel of the car? Did you also upgrade the endlinks?

The sway bars are definitely an improvement, I kept the stock end links. I’m more of a straight line guy when it comes to my performance upgrades, but it is nice to feel confident on the curvy roads.

Any feedback on the performance of this intercooler? Welcome all qualitative and quantitative results :)

Here are some logs from this Friday night test & tune.

Run 4 went from 123°F to 82°F

Run 3 went from109°F to 75°F

I've had mine on for a few months now. Went to a track day where I ran back to back races where performance stayed super consistent (7.6 about four times in a row for the 1/8 mile). My kit is the full kit with charge pipe (3 inch vs 2.5 stock) and my dyno resulted in about a ten WHP gain. Overall I'm satisfied with it. One thing I wish I had done was have it powder coated.
