Belt replacement

In step 2, they say to remove the serpentine belt, one must turn the tensioner counter clockwise. The arrow in the picture shows clockwise. Which makes sense.

Which is right?

Anyone do the water pump belt yet? Looks like a special tool is required.

Step 3 says to turn the damper pulley clockwise. Is this correct? Does the crank rotate clock wise when facing the engine from the front?

Also, unless i'm mistaken, that's the 4 cyl pictured.

Edit: Just looked at mine. Unless there's something to rotate tensioner from the bottom, looks like the intercooler has to come out to change the belts. It's directly in front of the tensioner bolt. What a pita.

It doesn't really matter. Like any tensioner it should only easily move in one direction.

Yup. The bigger challenge is just getting at it.
