My Michelin's have about 18k on them, after this season I'll probably be looking to replace. My local shop has the Continental DWS06+ on for $1060k for the set. On-top of that $160 back in CT money as well as no interest or 24 equal payments on the card.

Are the Continentals a worthy tire for the Stinger. I would buy now and put onto my rooms at the end of the driving season. Like everything can only see prices going up.

I've had a set of the Conti DWS06s- VERY good all season tire and likely the one I would have chosen if I wasn't a believer in dedicated snow tires here in the NE. My only thoughts was that the tires wore a bit quicker than I thought a 60k mile tire would, but really fantastic in every other way and reasonably priced too.

The Conti's would be fine, but the best tires for the vehicle are sport (sticky) for the summer and winter tires. All season tires compromise handling/traction in the summer, and compromise traction in the winter that you're betting on the AWD to compensate. As long as you've been fine with the OE tires in the winter, the Conti's should be as good.

These are my next tire this fall.

Already have Winters so these are for just every day driving in the Spring to Fall months.

Well if you already have a dedicated winter set of wheels, you could go with the Conti ExtremeContact Sport tires for a bit more. I put the ECSs on last week, but have been careful not to get too crazy yet, as it still hovering around freezing most mornings and the ECSs are clearly a max summer tire. In my limited use, I'm liking them a lot and they're $50+ cheaper per corner than the Michelin PSs.

PS: the wear rating is a bit higher/longer wearing than the MPSs, I wouldn't expect much more than 20/21k vs 18k on the Michelins.

It’s an excellent tire. Grip is amazing for an all season. Really good in the wet and cold too. Mine didn’t last too long though. I had about 6000 miles on them and I expect I would have been replacing them around 10k

Holy smokes...the UTQG on the DWS06s are like 560 and your only getting 10k miles from them?
Bro, you must be having serious fun smoking those tires...and other things too :p

Note to self: Don't buy any Stinger parts from 87and66... GAhh! too late. :p

Another vote for proper summer tires then, since you're already swapping. IMO why bother swapping if not for the best performance possible(?).

Agree with above. To maximize on the cars performance, definitely get the stickies for summer.

This might be my next tire in 4-5 yrs. Supposedly it's a notch below the PS AS 4 in some category(ies). We'll see what pricing is next time around. Paid ~$840USD for the PS AS4 in 245/40/18 last august.

If I start driving more, then def dedicated summers/winters. At <7Kmi/yr, just not worth it.

Hahaha I think a big reason is that my car was lowered and that gave it excessive rear camber. They were wearing on the outsides. But even the middles wore quicker than I expected.

Haha too late indeed. enjoy! I actually took great care of the car. Didn’t beat on it. Don’t worry

I just ran Michelin PS4 All Seasons through the winter here in southern Ontario, on my Golf R. They handle almost all conditions better than I expected. The only time it was sketchy was an unplowed backroad with about a foot of snow, only time I said " winter tires would be nice here". With AWD I don't think super sticky summer tires are absolutely necessary, these are 90% of the PS4S with the added bonus of actually decent winter grip.

There's definitely decent AS tires that provided good enough traction and performance, but if the OP is already swapping Winters then there's no reason to not just use summer / performance tires. Seeing that staggered setups are going to run through tires quick anyways, mind as well be driving on the best you can.

Excessive rear negative camber... And the outsides wore out?

That sounds like a toe issue, not a camber issue.

oops. Sorry... insides, not outsides. I could actually see how cambered the wheels were just looking at them

That makes more sense.

Did something go wrong with your alignment after getting the car lowered?
