Installed a Megan Racing Catback a couple weeks ago. This exhaust isn't all that common and not very well documented in Stingers yet since it's only a year or so old, but from the tiny bit of info I was able to find on it, and from reviews for the systems they make for other cars, I decided to go with this one. It was between this and the MBRP. I do like the tone of the Megan Racing better. The MBRP might be a little louder, but I was looking for something on the less aggressive said for my daily.

I also found a very nice deal on it. KDM Project has it for $625. It was right about $700 after shipping. 304 stainless. Also comes with new gaskets, stainless steel bolts, and stainless brace on the back half.

These particular tips are just temporary to eliminate the drone while I wait for my oval tips from Ali. These tips honestly don't look bad though imo. The sound is just what I was looking for, louder and deeper than stock, but nothing crazy.

Here's a sound clip I made a week ago:

*the photo below from underneath is from the Megan Racing website for the exhaust. I forgot to take one myself lol

Not bad. Need to hear it on a drive by under load. Looks decent though.

I'm torn between this and the Thermal R&D..

Here's one with the exhaust note while the car is driving. Looks like they filmed it with a gopro so not the best for clarity, but gives you an idea.

What are the tips? Do you have a link?

So I'm planning on doing mine in the coming weeks.
Question since you just did one.
There's a brace on the frame of the car right around the middle. It looks like it would be easier to do the exhaust with that removed, but I wasn't sure if the mounting holes might be hard to line up once it's removed if there happened to be some twist in the body while it was sitting on jack stands.

Did you remove that brace?
If so, was it tough to get back in place?

Yes, you'll definitely need to remove it. It's easy to line up when putting it back on. I was nervous about that too but it's not very complex. There's plenty of wiggle room. I think I took one side out and loosened the other side so I could just turn it out of the way. But taking it completely off would've been fine too.

Cool, thanks I will do that.
Did your new one have a small muffler section on that first section of the exhaust under the brace?
I lifted mine this weekend just to get a visual on the set up before my exhaust arrives and I noticed the driveshaft runs right above
that section. The stock has two individual "mufflers" or whatever they are in that section, but my new one has a full section that both
pipes enter and exit.
Just curious what your set up was?

It sounds like you're referring to the resonators I believe? Mine has those yes. If you look at the attached pictures on the original post you will see them on the first section. BTW are you installing the Megan exhaust or a different brand exhaust? It shouldn't matter, but just wondering.

ahh, yeah I see that pic now.
I'm getting the JUN BL one. I really wanted to maintain the ability to have the valved side for quiet operation.
Basically just for when I leave in the morning.

I have this exhaust on for about 3 months now overall I like it sound and tone are good and it isn't overly loud. It does drone if you don't extend those tips out and leave the OEM tips. I can confirm it drones at the 2700 RPM around 75-80 mph while cruising with 93-100 Hertz frequency measured on a sound app. Other drone RPM's are down if you get on it as well. I would love to know what size tip fit on this exhaust system that you found to be successful ?

This is what I'm running now that can be seen in the photos. Be careful if you get these though, their QC seems bad because I bought all of these with the same exact part number, and two of them fit perfectly, one was slightly oversized but no big deal, and one was a decent amount oversized and was a big pain in the a** to get to clamp.

This is what I'm waiting for from AliExpress.

Bump, since there have been a lot of new threads looking for exhaust options lately

Idk what exhaust you're running, but for this exhaust the 63mm inlet is perfect fit. Any smaller wouldn't work. Any bigger and would be a little hard to clamp.

Appreciate the input on different exhaust options bro. I was pretty set on mbrp but after hearing the Megan Catback I might be sold on it. Do you plan on adding down pipes ? If you do can you provide a sound clip when you have some time ? Thanks

I don't plan on doing downpipes, at least anytime soon, but I think there was one person on the Kia Stinger Owners Facebook group who said they had the Megan with downpipes as well. I'll see if I can try to figure out who it was and see if they have a sound clip

If you find it can you copy and paste the link on the forum ?
