Lozic ECU + TCU + AWD Tune

How do you find the drivability? Does it feel overly aggressive or does it drive normally?
I don't find it overly aggressive. Although sometimes when I'm driving spiritly in sport mode I have to remind myself to breathe lol. For me Comfort/Eco is very close to stock only a faster throttle response. Similar to using a pedal commander.

How has your mpg been?

Any difference, I know Adoom mentioned there was a dip with his with the boost function on. I know some members who bought it early on had some oscillating issues.

Lozic does recommend leaving it on.

My mpg is equal to if not better than stock if I drive like a granny. I have crossed 30 mpg crusing to work in warmer weather with Lozic ECU. But mpg drops very fast when my foot turns to lead.

The only weird noise I occasionally hear is demonstrated perfectly at :08 and :29 of this video. This sound occurs under light to medium pedal in lower RPM's only using sport mode. It last for a second or less and is gone. I'm sure there is a specific set of conditions that causes this.

Are you able to drive smooth with progressive throttle? IE: Accelerate brisk but not full send?

Yes cruising on the highway I can ease into the pedal without making the transmission auto downshift and she keeps pulling all the way until I let off of the pedal. Kinda like lugging the engine. I do notice this type of acceleration doesn't seem quite as smooth as giving enough pedal to make the transmission downshift. But when it down shifts the acceleration is smooth as butter. (All the conditions I just described are in sport mode)

Awesome!

I have it set to OFF. I believe you get "more aggressive" boosting with it set to ON. I didn't want the car to feel like every drive it was constantly in KILL mode. I think with ON you can use the factory LC boost though. I'm not sure though.
I also have boost ready turned off and 1.5 tune in all modes. Comfort mode is smooth and progressive but in sport the boost rises very fast from about 2500rpm. You can also build boost on launch if you choose to remove torque limits on the TCU. I’m launching at about 9psi @ 2700 rpm. Another option that isn’t listed on the tcu form is brake boost which allows you to brake and accelerator will driving to build boost. Great for roll racing. If you don’t ask for it you only get 4 seconds before the throttle is cut. My updated TCU is still on the way so I haven’t tested the new feature yet.

I appreciate the feedback! Can you take us through how you launch? I have heard people say feather it.. slowly get to X rpm then go. Then some say definitely don’t hold it too long. Some say floor it a millisecond before letting off the brake. Some say say at the same time. Just lots of ways out there. What has been working best for your launch's
A lot of it is dependent on the surface that I'm running on and the weather. Usually my first run at a track is not floored completely because I am trying to gauge how sticky the surface is and I don't want wheel hop. I never have this issue on the street, so I can usually go all out. If temps are low, below 45, I'll do a burnout to warm the tires before launching. I have the AWD controller from LOZIC so it's been easy and no CELs. I never tried it when the car was stock, so I do not know if you'd run into any issues if you tried that. Some AWD cars throw a code when you try to do that. Anyway, make sure you have TC and ESC fully defeated or you will not get a great launch. You have to hold the ESC button until it reads that both TC and ESC are off. Then I launch just like I would with the LC, with a foot on the brake and Fully holding down the throttle. Get to desired RPM (1700 - 2300) and release brake. I only feather it to an RPM if I'm street racing, mainly because you don't know exactly when the light will flash. Don't worry about this one too much.

One thing I had to become conscious of was making sure I had the gas pedal completely to the floor. There's like an extra inch in the pedal you might not notice at first. Just try to put your foot all the way through until you think you're gonna tickle the intercooler lol. Usually I wait an extra second before letting off the gas just to make sure I squeezed every last mph out of the run.

This is the most important thing, DO NOT try to "power through" anything. Car slides, let off the gas. Car hops, let off the gas. Here a funny sound, let off the gas. It's a lot cheaper to just try another run than it would be to replace anything in the car. The more time you spend with the car, the better feel for your car you will have and the more successful you will be. You'll also start to know what feels right and what doesn't.

Also, if you're going to track it, race people, or put in on the drag strip, make sure you upgrade the cooling. These cars have terrible heat soak.

That was a perfect breakdown- I really appreciate you taking the time to do that! Silly as this sounds I didn’t know you could floor it while holding the brake (unless factory LC was active.) This was perfect information. Now I’m more excited for the TCU.

No problem.

Just curious what other mods you have besides the Lozic trio? What 0-60, 1/8 and 1/4 mile times are you getting? According to my dragy best times for me are 3.64 0-60, 7.50 1/8 mile and 11.63 1/4 mile. I hope to improve those numbers once I put my summer tires back on.

Nothing much that would add that much performance. I have a BMS intake, OCC, HKS spark plugs, and muffler delete. I have 2021 G70 I think it weighs about 100 pounds less than a fully loaded Stinger. I grabbed all the goodies =).

The intake has poor heat shielding, muffler delete saved some weight (30lbs?). I like the whoosh sound from BMS, I think it sounds the best, but I would put the gains at net zero at best. I have Michelin Primacy all-season tires and the factory 19 inch wheels. Someone on the Genesis forum weighed the wheels, I think it was 32lbs each . Stock intercooler is still installed and I can tell I'm losing power up top because of it. Hoping to remedy that with Mishimoto soon, was gonna go Wagner but idk. Didn't feel 100% (personal preference, no hard data).

Car runs just pump gas. I have 93 octane, but no wmi or cpi installed yet. I am 1.4 bar on my ECU, my TCU is set to -5%, so there's room for a better time which I should get once my retune is complete.

Dragy PB's so far (not sure if it matters, but all times are with spare tire installed):

0-60 3.49s
1/8th 7.50
1/4mi 11.66

I'll get some comparison data once the weather warms here. I live in New England so the it's tough to get runs sometimes due to temps and snow. It was 55 degrees Saturday, and then 21 degrees the next. Smh.

Seems like our numbers are very close besides your 0-60. I'm full weight and I was using a E24 mix for my best runs if I remember right. In cold weather I only use 93 octane. The factory 19" wheels are ridiculously heavy. Next time I rotate my tires I'll have to weigh them. Maybe someday I'll switch to some light weight 18" wheels. The crappy Nitto Motivo all season tires I have on right now doesn't help either. I get wheel spin in the high RPM range of 1st gear when I launch. Seems like I have better results when doing a torque limits on launch since I can build boost. A torque limits off launch usually results in all 4 wheels spinning. Torque limits off launches also can't be good for the drivetrain. Hopefully when I put my summer tires I'll have some grip.

Best 60ft so far is 1.70. I think that's good for the tires I'm running.

60-130mph test is really helpful as well. Have you done any of those yet? This is where I can tell I'm losing power because I don't find my numbers there to be good.

I guess I could look at 100-150mph, but I don't know too many cars that have done that so there wouldnt be much data for this platform. Most I've been able to do is 162mph. Traffic showed up so I had to slow down.

This is the best way I can describe it. with boost ready on, the car feels constantly in kill mode.

Lozic told me he can now have boost ready ON only over 2000rpm as an option. So it's off under 2000rpm.

The features and customer service just keep getting better!!

@sweetboyed - We really love what you are doing!

When did he tell you this? if it could be made like 2500rpm for me, I am pretty sure that would solve all the complaints I have for daily driving, though I will still probably get it turned off

As a DD, I'd Probably turn the boost function off. I had a brief discussion on the drive by mode boost with Slip, and decided to turn that off aswell.
