Hi all,

So I'm pretty new to modding and want to change my exhaust without the wife knowing. Question is can the stock exhaust be taken off in pieces so I can hide them? 2nd questions is, I narrowed down which exhaust I want and i'm down to 3, the MBRP, the Borla, or the Jun BI EVC catback system because of the active sound. Also they all can be used with stock tips? Which one do you all prefer in terms of sound and HP gain?

I've had the MBRP for over a year and a half. I like it. Not too loud but much better than stock. Can't speak to the other 2 as I've never heard them in person. I know the Borla is louder. All will work with stock tips. when doing a catback, here’s what you take off. Although I wouldn’t suggest lying to your wife

Jun BL EVC will work with stock tips, and allow you to keep it in quiet mode and slowly introduce the louder mode over time. It's the most expensive and will be the most complicated install because it requires a battery connection and a switch. Not sure where you're going to hide the stock Exhaust, but it is a few large peices. Maybe at a buddies house? Best of luck.

I'm figuring out where to put it myself lol. I have a big storage box maybe I can fit them in there lol.

Thanks! that gives me a better picture of where to hide them in our apartment lol. I've heard the Borla is louder too but idk by how much.

Borla is the loudest exhaust.

I love my MBRP. From the catback, the exhaust comes apart in 3 pieces. The crossover pipes and then the mufflers with pipes attached. Pretty big pieces to try and hide.

Unless you have another place to store it you’re not hiding it. . MBRP was the sanest sounding IMO how the car should have come from the factory.

the box for any exhaust is going to be huge. I wouldn't recommend home delivery if stealth is your wish.

also- she's probably going to notice the sound difference. All of the ones you mentioned will work with stock tips, but the in-cabin noise might be a little much without aftermarket tips routing all that extra noise out from under the car. I have the MBRP with tips and love it. But the wife did notice the sound, even though the tips look identical to stock.

Also- ekco I believe is selling his for $400 bucks and a swap of the original if you’re on the east coast

Ya know of you "accidently" get a hole in your muffler the lie is easier to remember. Best of luck

I figured just checking

I know you have the issue of hiding the parts to begin with. I do know for a 100% fact if you do downpipes with the Borla you're going to need to park down the block if the wife is going to be anywhere around on cold starts. Unless she has never heard the car start before prior to after market install. Lol

Think the number 1 issue with her

think the #1 issue with her now is that she doesn’t want more crap in the apt so I would need to hide the stock parts from her lol
