I have a Stinger GT2 AWD. Just hit 2k miles. The other day I was in Sport mode and hit the gas hard. All of a sudden it started jumping, almost as there was too much gas hitting. Check Engine light came on. I shut it off and restarted the car and no CEL. Drive it normal, no issues. Hit the gas hard again and it's starts jerking again. I work at a Kia dealer so it's very easy for me to pull the car in when somethings wrong with it.

My tech pops the hood and Spark plug #4 is cracked...bad. Ordered new plug, next day we replace it. Take it out, hit the gas hard again and it's jerking again, engine's rumbling. Pull it back in to service and the new plug is CRACKED AGAIN!

Tomorrow will be day 3. I will keep everyone updated. Is anyone else have this problem though?

That. Does. Not. Sound. Good.

Sorry to hear this is happening.

Nothing along those lines for me.

Please do keep us posted on how this turns out!

Maybe something is resting against it or hits into it when the motor is under torque. I hope you get it resolved quickly.

Wow, thats crazy. I'm assuming you guys gapped them properly and torqued to the right specs?

Third times the charm?? Keep us updated

We had similar symptoms, replacing the coil solved the problem.

Make sure to check all the plugs.

Uh-oh! Drain the oil and check for coolant in it. Might be a bad head gasket.

Wow, sorry to hear that! Please keep us posted! Has anyone else experienced this issue with the 2.0? Do they use the same plugs?

Was your car chipped?

Any reason a chip would affect it?
It has been an issue with some users that implemented a piggyback tune. So we would like to know if this is a stock issue or a tune issue or both.

Hmm...he's being pretty cagey.

Premonition: it was chipped but he's afraid to say cause he thinks we'll snitch to his dealership.

That's what we are trying to figure out as well.

In the mean time we have confirmed the upgraded plugs for the 3.3TT to be HKS M45iL, this should be the solution for customers using the chip with the 3.3TT.

Price is $180.00 shipped on (6) HKS M45iL plugs, anyone can email us Sales@K8StingerStore.com to place an order

Paul, any word on whether the Stinger's 2.0 motor will need a plug upgrade to ensure longevity running the chip? I'm genuinely interested in the chip but would like to cover my bases before pulling that trigger. No one seems to be able to answer this question so far and I am hoping you might have some insight... :)
EDIT---just saw your reply to this in another thread. Thanks so much!!!
