I saw this article on another car site and thought it was interesting. The, no pick up, part doesn't surprise me as I don't think it would be a good idea, particularly in the US. But the no crossover thing I think is a terrible idea! I'm not an suv guy but I thought making a GT/performance suv based on the Stinger platform would be a literal cash cow! Something like what Alfa Romeo is doing with the Guilia/Stelvio or what BMW does with their 3/X3 and 5/X5's. I think it would get more customers in the showrooms and I believe, at least internationally, they would sell a ton of them as it would be an affordable version of the Cayenne, Stelvio or X5. I believe it also might lower costs of the platform as it would spread the costs with another vehicle and I think it would help to elevate the brand which is what KIA is trying to do anyway. What do you folks think? Here's the link.

I think KIA hit a home run, a grand slam with the Stinger. They should continue to improve the car without trying to dilute the value of the car by making it appear on the streets as an SUV or a pu truck. let KIA create something new and interesting in a truck but don't screw with what could become a legend.

What's been verified here is, more or less, that there's not going to be a Stinger sub brand. In other words, there's not going to be an SUV or anything else named Stinger. There will surely be a Crossover Utility Vehicle with Stinger DNA, meaning sport suspension and powerful drivetrain, and will also look somewhat similar to the Stinger as that is Kia's new design language. So, technically, there will be a Stinger CUV - with it's own unique name...

Your right I think it would be a great idea for something like that.

The Kia Telluride Concept isnt as sport focused as the Stelvio or X3 but Rumour has it the 3.5 V6 paired with the electric motor will have a combined HP output of 400 !
