Hi guys,

I am creating this thread to consolidate information about Canadian MY22 Stinger as they become available.

EDIT: Thanks for your comments and sharing the video I will try to consolidate the information I had and what you provided here:

  • Engine: No 2.5T variant only the 3.3TT V6 in Canada
  • Trims: No more GT trim instead GT Limited, Elite and Elite suede. Gt Limited will lose some goodies vs the current limited but gain some other new goodies from the refresh
  • Base price: will be closer to current GT Limited price so no more 46XXXCAD starting price.
  • Colors: New Ascott Green

GT LIMITED (+gain, -Lose, net new) (Price close to current limited)
  • + New wheels, tail lights, exhaust diffuser etc. from the refresh
  • + New safety tech (Highway driving assist, lane follow assist, cross traffic...)
  • + New 10.25 Screen
  • + Variable Exhaust
  • - HUD
  • - Seat Bolster Adjustments
  • - Driver Seat extension
  • - LSD
  • - Black headliner
  • - Dynamic Headlight
  • - 360 Camera
GT Elite (Limited +) (add 2-3K)
  • HUD
  • Seat Bolster Adjustments
  • Seat extensions
  • LSD
  • Black headliner
  • Dynamic Headlight
  • 360 Camera
  • + Blind spot view monitor
GT Elite Suede
  • + Suede seats, dash ...
  • + Red seat belts

Basically the GT Limited is the new GT and GT Elite is the new Limited but they kept the price of the Limited... Strange that they had to remove that much stuff from the GT Limited to be able to include the new tech and exhaust for that price. 2018-2021 GT Limited will remain the ultimate bargain (price to value ratio) if you are ok will older tech...

*** Thank to BRANTFORD KIA team that so far provide most of the information though their youtube videos *** I am not affiliated with them nor ever talked to them personally but I do like their videos.

Not a fan of the suede design interior..I would destroy it. But I wish I had the 10.5" infotainment system in my 2019 premium.
And if it has true wireless android auto.

Hi guys,

I am creating this thread to consolidate information about Canadian MY22 Stinger as they become available.

I will start with this :

no 2.5T variant only V6 in Canada
No more GT trim instead GT Limited, Elite and Elite suede. Gt Limited will lose some goodies vs the current limited (like dynamic seats, LSD (Limited Slip Differential) ) but gain some other new goodies from the refresh
Base prise will be closer to current GT Limited price.

New colour: Ascot Green

Also, Brantford Kia gives a ton of information on the trim levels. I'm a too tired right now to post them on the page, but if someone wants to here is the link on all the KIA stinger 2022 information for canada

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Even though an economy car from KIA already has it? That's a mistake...
I think the reason it doesn't have wireless AA is because they probably only replaced the screen and kept the same head/media unit (just updated software). Hence no updates as wireless AA is a hardware update.

But I agree with you, it should have definitely been a feature.

Right other thing I heard. They added a manual mode. Apparently you push the shifter forward while driving and it sets it to manual mode (@7:50).

Also if you search 2021 Kia Stinger in Korean letters or use Australia as your search location you get to see a bunch of potential 2022 updates.

Thanks, not very clear to me the thing about the manual mode... Shift by wire cars manual mode is working in sport mode until a complete stop. What do you understand about what KIA changed?

I am very well aware of the refresh model in general from Korea, Europe and Oceania but this thread was about specific what Canada will actually get. February is usually the start of Auto shows and more information specific to Canada should start to flow.

For example we all heard of a Black Package but so far no new if we will get this in Canada and so far it seems not part of standard offering, maybe as a special edition later in the year...

Yeah I know this is for the Canada update that's why I said "potential 2022 updates" but not confirmed. The Brantford video I posted is what the stinger is getting for sure (or most likely) in Canada.

As for what KIA changed about the manual mode: you can now lock it in place so it doesn't actually revert back to Drive mode. For example when I use manual mode, if the car comes to a stop it will automatically revert back to drive mode. The update would instead tell it to stay in the gear you selected (assuming you aren't at an rpm range that will damage the engine - auto will take over at that point).

I honestly don't see why they wouldn't include that on all their stingers unless there was regulation against that.

The great thing for us Canadian 18-21MY owners is that this new pricing and model configuration should drive the price of the used market cars up and make them more desirable, especially since on the outside they will be nearly identical. In 2018 you could get a the 2.0T turbo model for 39,999 and a GT well equipped with the 3.3TT for 44k and now you wont even be able to get into a stinger at the dealer for less than 50k.

The new green colour is tempting, green cars have a good history in my family so I'm intrigued.

Yes will be interesting to see it in person. It would have been even more desirable with brown or tan seats though.
Agreed on the brown, it's already giving me British racing green vibes and with a brown interior that would complete the look.

Our Stingers already (since 2018) stay in manual mode if you are in Sport mode. They only revert if in Comfort or ECO.

Wait WHAT? I am assuming this includes 2018 models? I swear anytime I come to a stop it reverts back to drive. Dang, now I need to try this when I go pick up my sister from school.

Aussie models were debilitated in this manner.

These changes are bizarre for a mid cycle refresh. Taking away features from an existing trim and then making customers pay for them is not a good way to make a hard to sell car more appealing.

Good thread though. It’s nice to see it all spelled out like this.
