Just want to get an average of the tire life span. I know some Stingers come with ContiSportContact 5 or Pilot Sport 4. How long did your tires last? I have the continentals and with 22,000 miles on them, the rears are very worn compared to the fronts on the RWD. It's 19" staggered wheels on my GT-Line. I also went to a local tire shop and they quoted me about $1330 + installation for a set of four Pilot Sport 4 tires. Is it too much? I asked them also about the price of PS4s but they haven't replied yet.

That's too expensive.

ExtremeContact DWS06

Quote if I were to get my tires changed. Exclude taxes.

I'm not expecting to get more than 10K out of my Michelin Primacy Tour AS. Even being a brand new car and rotations side to side every 2K, i doubt the 40K mile warranty is anywhere close to reality on these cars.

He's in the UAE, so for all we know it's a normal price (I agree it seems high).

To answer your first question, my rears lasted about 15K miles. Fronts still have a lot of tread, but I bought 20" wheels so I never had a chance to wear them out.

I run Firestone Indy500 tires now (also sold as Bridgestone Potenza RE003) and they're every bit as good as my PS4s were. Granted they're wider, so maybe a tad less grip, but I already have 15K on them and have plenty of tread left.

What is the treadwear on these tires? It's 280 on the ContiSportContact 5.

Is the width of your current tires 255 or is it wider? My fronts also look almost new, but I'll have to replace them since I want to change to Michelin. I also agree on everything being more expensive since it's not manufactured here but shipped from the US and whatnot.

The Contisport Contact 5-s are absolutely garbage in terms of lifespan, lasted about 12 000km on my car and had 4.5 millimetres left but sold them used because I wanted bigger wheels.

Tire wear ratings can be very deceiving. I have read that a rating of say 300 from one manufacturer is not necessarily the same as for a different company's rating of 300. Supposedly, you can figure that for the same company, a higher value indicates longer wear, however. You would think there would be industry wide standards.

Well then I think 22k miles (about 35000 km) on them is decent lol

Most performance tires will last anywhere from 12K miles and 30K miles depending on the treadwear ratings. The softer the tire the shorter the life span. The Pilot Sport 4 have a treadwear rating of 320 and and a tread life warranty of 20K miles, so they expect them to last that long before having to be replaced. The Contisport Contact 5 has a rating of 280 so they are a softer tire and should not last as long.

I have 285 rear, 255 front.

Read the fine print on tread life warranty. Some brands flat out don't warranty staggered setups, others cut it in half.

I am not sure the warranty necessarily predicts the expected life of the tire. In my experience, tires often wear out earlier than expected and if the wear is even, the manufacturer may offer replacement tires on a prorated basis. So they are able to sell you a new set of tires and you effectively receive a discount. If the wear is not even, however, presumably due to alignment issues, underinflation, failure to rotate regularly, etc., you may be out of luck.

I'm happy to get 10,000 miles on any of our "sporty" cars.

I buy them here in the US at Costco, as they honor the warranty without question, so I'm usually paying about half price for my daughters Challenger, for example.

I’ve got 20k on my AW Bridgestone that came with my 18 GT 2 AWD. They seem to be holding up well. I’m planning on getting a set of winters in late fall, and new wheels and summers in the spring.

I got about 20k for my rears and 24k for the fronts. Since the new rears got put on, they changed from Pilot Sport 4 to Pilot Sport 4S and I have 8k on the rears and they are nearly toast. Are the 4S significantly softer than the 4?

Yes the 4S have a rating of 300 vs the 4 having a rating of 320. So the 4S is softer. I wouldn't say they are significantly softer, but they more than likely won't last as long and the Pilot Sport 4 tires.

26,000km on the conti5s and the back are all but shot. Fronts still have tread but the ousides are baldly worn. Going the PS4s next.

I'm on my 4th set... 37k miles.

PS4, then Indy 500, then PS4S, back on PS4 now. Already missing the PS4S haha.

AWD; c. 18K miles rear; c. 22K miles front: Michelin PS4.
Now I'm wondering if I forgot to subtract the c. 5K miles of winter driving I did on the Nitto Motivo A/S. Leaky brains are a terrible thing. Damnation.
